It seems there are WAY too many inconsistancy's with Wolverine. So I've decided to start this Thread to portray EXACTLY what he can and cannot do.

Should he be able to Survive a Nuke?

Should he be able to Regrow Organs? (Regardless of whether or not that's physically plausible unless his body CLONES itself)

Should he be able to Regrow adamantium when it's been cut of AT THE JOINTS?

For that matter... CAN his Arms at the Joints?

How far EXACTLY is he able to smell/see/track

I just want there to be a clear definition as to what he can do WITHOUT saying "well he's done it before" because we know that alot of writers have been overexadurating his power. This way we can say HEY WOLVERINE CANNOT DO THAT BECAUSE IT DOES NOT SAY SO ON THE INS AND OUTS OF WOLVERINE. At least that's this threads intent.


Also, be fair guys... Wolverine is pretty intense so don't turn this into a spite thread please. I really want this to help the forum out.

The ins: Adamantuim, healing factor

The outs: Adamantium claws

shouldn't "not physically plausible" explain why he can't? and how would he regrow adamantium, a non-organic metal his body's hated since day one?

Same here , Wolverine is powerful....as a street leveler. But marvel makes it so he can attack the Hulk and not get killed.

Unless it is a tactical nuke, and from a fair distance, W is toast.

Regrow adamantium? Definitely not; it has no genetic link to him and is not alive.

As for other Ins and Outs: well, his claws go in and out, yes?

Wolverine never ACTUALLY took a nuke.

I think the evelator wasnt soooooo bad...hmm because people do things in moments of need, the adrenaline and such. seeing as hes such a strong man (Compared to normal people) i wouldnt say it is so unbelievable for him to do it...adrenaline and sh*t you know

But it's like 3-4 times stronger then the strongest grip, according to this crazy grip fanatic website I was looking at. He wasn't just holding the elevator up, he was holding the counterweight up which is supposed to weigh as much as the elevator at 40% capacity.

Wolverine and the "Nuke"

Problems:
1. Boots, pants, belt, skin, and hair all appear undamaged
2. Intact debris only feet away
3. Nothing is on fire

The idea of the nuke being only a napalm bomb with a sonic component to the blasts sounds more reasonable as there are very few comic book characters who should be able to survive a nuclear explosion at ground zero and Wolverine is most definitely not one of them.



Regrowing Organs/limbs

While the portrayal of Wolverine's regenerative abilities when it comes to entire limbs or organs, I would not dismiss the possibility out of hand. Given the fact that his healing factor can rather easily accelerated or decelerated by writers to fit their story, this is a difficult question to answer. Right now I would say that both are at least possible.

Joints

While 616 Wolverine has shown that his joints appear to be "unbreakable" as his skeleton in various feats, Marvel has never addressed how this is possible in a satisfactory manner to me. As far as I know there was never any mention of radically altering Wolverine's bone structure before its bonding with adamantium nor has it even been mention that his connective tissue was fortified in any way. Thus we have feats with no explanations for them, which may be fine or complete PIS according to your feelings on the matter.
