What exactly constitutes someone getting "owned", and what exactly does it mean? From what I see on this site, it has different meanings and is a pretty versatile word.

When does it apply, and when is it proper to tell someone or declare that someone got "owned"?

And whats the difference between "owned", "pwned", and "WTFpwned"??

OWNED is more of getting beat down or told off while pwn3d is being horridly beaten having your arms ripped off or something...i guess

For some Reason I always read pwned as "Pawned"

Are there any letters taken out or is it just really pwned?

It originated as a spelling mistake since O and P are right next to each other.

You just know when somebody gets owned....its like a feeling.....

Personally, about 99% of the time when people go "owned!" or "pwned!", it appears to me like they're just trying to make themselves seem bigger and better than others.

Nah, more like 68%. Sometimes that really deserve it.

LanceWindu is right about owned and pwned. I still pronounce it "pawned" though because it is way cooler.
