Jabba the Hutt
Who in your opinion has/had the most powerful hard rock voice of all time?

I'd say either Rob Halford, Bruce Disckinson, or Ronnie James Dio.

Alpha Centauri
Chris Cornell, if it came down to it.

Ya Krunk'd Floo
Yeah, I'd go along with that. He's got a forkin' great voice.

Scorpion_Master
Ill say Joacim cans (Hammerfall), Mr.Lordi (Lordi), Corey Taylor (Slipknot) and Bruce dickinson (Iron Maiden)

And

Well...I can't think of anyone else than Joey Belladonna right now...

Victor Von Doom
Hahahaha. Good Lord.

Cornell. The man could drown out a plane.

Deathblow
Burton C. Bell (of Fear Factory) can belt a song out with the best of them.

musicislife
James Hetfield or Bruce Dickinson would get my vote.

mysterio69
cornell, in his prime. hands down.

Darth Revan
Definitely Cornell. But he smokes too many cigarettes, I think, because he's not nearly as powerful as he used to be.

True Fox
Chris from American Idol.

FunkMaster Flex
What band is Cornell in?

SnakeEyes
Currently, he's in Audioslave. He used to be in Soundgarden.

RedAlertv2
Yeah I'd go with Cornell. Eddie Vedder is fantastic but not anywhere close to him.

bogen
that dude from that band were they make noise with strings on sticks

Valharu
In no order
Chris Cornell (Soundgarden)
James Hetfield
Freddy Mercury
Billy Joel. No joke.
Devin Townsend

I havent heard some of the artists you guys said, but i have to say the singer in hard rock that has effected me the most is Maynard. I think his voice is amazing.

Victor Von Doom
Although true, neither of those are the criterion of the thread.

The Highlord
Jorn Lande

FunkMaster Flex

Chris Cornell By the same token.....when has Chris Cornell sang hard rock??? And I should have mentioned Wayne Static.

What the f...?
I've seen Halford/Judas Priest live like 5 times... And even when I was setting in the noise bleeds, my ears were ringing. How he friggin hits those notes, and hit them with that amount of power at his age shocks me... but then again I shouldnt be shocked cuz he's a ****ing metal god.

Him and David Draiman.

If Metal counts, then Randy Blythe and Devin Townsend too.

luv*kiedis
wat 'bout Anthony Kiedis(RHCP)
guys???

Victor Von Doom
His voice isn't powerful.

Just because you like someone, doesn't make them good at everything.

Scarecrow756
Bruce Dickinson
Bon Scott
Brain Johnson
Billy Joe Armstrong
Freddie Mercury

Df02
i went to a Thursday gig once, and the power went out on his mic, and you could still hear his voice clearly... pretty powerful.

also, Grady Avenell has a strong voice.

Alpha Centauri
I always classed him as a metal vocalist, really.
