I think Cletus is too insane to be afraid of a giant walking shrub. Likewise Carnage can't actually hurt Man-Thing so much as separate parts of him...

Man-Thing is a monster from the 70's in the MU

He is comprised entirely of plant matter, meaning that punches or physical attacks pass right through him. He is also able to reassemble himself and can regenerate at an increadable rate in a swamp (sewers let him regenerate slower).

He reads emotions, and fear will make him go berzerk, producing an increadably powerful acid that burns whatever the man-thing touches

He has held his own against many of the powerhouses in the MU, though is normally defeated after prolongued absence from the swamp, hence why the fight is in a sewer, so carnage doesnt just win by default.

I really agree with Grey Fox here. Unless something really scare kassidy, i think this can go on until they drop from exhaustion

Man-thing will slay carnage

Carnage does fear.....his past!!! His past of abuse! His past of neglect! His past of pain! Oh yes, he knows plenty of fear!!! And that fear will be his downfall when facing Man-thing...once Man-thing responds to his emotions of fear AND hate!!

Hate also throws Man-Thing into a painful, mad rage...as does ANY negative emotion... And his strength is nothing to sneeze at either!!! He has fought some major, big guns in the Marvel Universe such as the Hulk and the Thing many times, and held his own...

Carnage can slash, hack, cut, and stab all he wants...it ain't gonna do diddily-squat to Man-Thing! He'll just regenerate from anything Carnage does to him in seconds...Man-Thing on the other hand can do plenty to Carnage....the symbiote is vulnerable to fire, and once Man-Thing gets his hands on Carnage, he goes up in flames and gets roasted like a Thanksgiving turkey!!!

The symbiote ends up a burnt, shriveled up, lifeless turd on the ground... and Cletus Kassidy ends up a slobbering vegetable; slowly sinking into the sewage drowning in a pile of his own feces....
