i've been watchin movies on my pc for some time already
and never had a problem like this.......
my whole pc acts up now
this is what it does......
the sound goes on and off on it's own
and the video lags on and off
so i would be watching a movie and it's like mute
video continues.......but when the sound comes back theres a lil lag wit the video
and it continues to happen over and over and over
i love my pc but right now
im a lil frustrated at pc's period
can anyone help me?

i tried rebooting my system
formatted the files and reinstalled windows xp
and still the same prob
could it be a hardware prob?

at first i thought the sound card was dying but now that i see the video lags and when im online the pc lags too
so i think it's a lil deeper then i kno

any ideas?

grrr help meeeeee

If you completely reformatted, then yes, it is a hardware problem.

It could be CPU, harddrive...

Your PC might actually be overheating dramatically...

Open the case and clean all the dust out of the fans, just in case. Remove any overclocks on the pc, too..

BadIntentionz
i check'd my hard drives
tried some other HD's i had around just incase
and it still does the same thing
i never thought about it over heating tho....
i did just recently bring the pc from my room to the living room
and the power keeps going out
got a big ac that drains the electricity here
i'll dust it off and see wasup
if it's the mother board that means i need a new one or do you think it can be fix'd?

thx for responding by the way

eggmayo
If it's the motherboard it usually means its either not plugged in right (!) or one of the circuits is broken. I have no idea though, it's just a possibility.

It sounds like your overheating, now you said you moved your PC but is there good ventalation like is it in an enclosed space where the fans suck back the hot air it gives out or is it in an open space?
