Huh? This isn't limited to people from an accepted "team". Team just refers to the fact that it's partners for this tourney. So if you find a partner, and sign up in time, you can do it too.

Power meshing is it's own horrible mess. But to be honest, I don't see how we'd avoid it....because with a team like the one you proposed, it would make it seem much less believable if you couldn't enhance your teammates.

So yeah, it's allowed, unless there's strong arguments against it.

It should leave you plenty of choices. You just have to use your imagination. 8 teams of 3 = 24 people. We had 12 more draft choices than that for the last herald tourney alone (there were 12 participants) and even if you subtract the few that are banned, there's plenty left.

All right, I'm still new with all this, so I just want to make sure I got this right.

We pair up with partners and each pair drafts three characters that fall within the rules. Whichever characters we pick, we're stuck with thorughout the whole tourney. We then pit our teams against each other randomly and debate how our own teams will win, with each debater discussing only one certain character in each debate. Each person can only post nine posts for the debate in favor of his/her character and each debate will last for a week. By the end, the judges and popular vote will decide who wins the debate and moves on.

Am I right?

I have question Digig and its on Battle field removal. will it be allowed to me it seems kinda of like the Flash in that it is kinda cheap.

See, that's the thing. The "no freaking loopholes" rule will let me just neuter characters who 'slip by'. So it's in everyone's best interests to be within the rules, or you may find yourself in a battle and suddenly unable to use powers that you thought you could sneak in. Trying to cheat me and the rest of the Corps will only hurt participants in the end.

In the meantime, though, you're welcome to try.

I think you should also be clear that duplicating powers, and copying powers characters are banned.....because then it will be like me and Long Pig all over again

I think elementals like ICEMAN should be banned. Sooner or later someone will say:

If turning into dust/mist/whatever means they basically can't be killed then, yes, it should be banned.

I was under the impression that the reason they are banned is that are just a little too easy to be modified by people. There really isn't a whole lot stopping someone from adding in certain "facts" into the bio that might help them and then claim wiki as an authoritative source in a match.

So if any GLC member says a character is banned, then he's banned! right?

Teleporting's fine, but not as battlefield removal....it's a bit cheap, and usually isn't used that way anyway.

A. In past tourney's we've had 20+ page fights with only 2 people fighting. It was a nightmare to read and judge. And I've seen individual posts that are small novels. Make those 9 count, and that's all you'll need. And multiply 9 x 4 and you have 36....almost two full pages of long posts. That will be plenty of time to make multiple points and determine a winner.

B. Did you see the last herald tourney? It was a mess with this stuff. I'm just trying to make it fair for as many people as possible. Anyone involved with any of the past tourneys will likely agree with me.

Besides, he might not be completely gone (just like smashing Deadpool to a pulp doesn't kill him) but for the purposes of the match it would still count as a win.

Sign-ups are on Sunday. 1st round of the drafts will be determined by how quickly we get 8 teams. But once sign-ups are done I'll make another annoucement for the start of drafts.

And we'll still only need 2 rounds, but finding 32 people (8x4) might be a stretch for a lot of people, so less is probably more in this case. 3-vs-3 is plenty for a good match though.

I resent that....even though he is banned for being unkillable in a physical sense, he took on and froze the freakin stranger....and him being smashed to bits? it took him a few seconds to come back last time it happened, and he can fight from that form...

Yep, if I remember correctly back in high school a team only got two rounds of debating (with only a certain amount of time to do these in) and the ability to ask a few questions after the other team made their two speaches. Keep in mind that with a 10,000 word limit for each post, I'd think that each team will get to say all they want and then some.

No amalgams. But anyone hurting for ideas should try to search for the last herald tourney draft threads or something....a lot of good ideas should come from that. And think power-mesh. It won't be as easy with a team as it was with amalgams, but it'll certainly help.

And wtf? Thing's Thing? This is a herald tourney, not an abstract-level tournament. Thing's Thing just beat Lucifer in BS Comics #198. Sheesh!

I can give you the link to the amalgam tourney final draft, which was all Herald-levellers or thereabouts. Keep in mind that that tourney didn't have this one's restrictions when looking through them.
