Epic battle scenes

Please recommend me some films with epic battles, the bigger the better. I have just rewatched Waterloo and enjoyed the spectacle of seeing so many soldiers on screen at once (a joy after recently rewatching my sharpe dvds and being dissapointed at the scale) It can be from historical to Sci fi etc

Kill Bill has some pretty amazing fights.

We Were Soldiers

Saving Private Ryan

Braveheart

Iron Monkey

The Matrix Revolutions (Sort of - Mainly the Neo vs. Smith)

The Lord of the Rings - The Two Towers and LOTR - ROTK
Braveheart
We Were Soldiers
Hard Boiled if you can find it.

Serenity

LOTR: The Tow Towers
Chronicles Of Narnia
Star Wars III

Kingdom of Heaven
Last Samurai
Gladiator
The Patriot
Troy

WHAT!?!?! Not a single mention of the epic battle at the end of Monty Pythons Holy Grail? Shame on you young uns. No respect for the classics.

precisely which battle are you referring to?

not to double post or anything, but here are my top five...

1.Saving Private Ryan-D-day Invasion: possibly the best sequence ever put to film,if not the best, certainly the most harrowing and intense. an absolutely heart-wrenching scene and a monument of modern film-making.

2. LOTR The Two Towers-The Battle of Helm's Deep: far more entertaining, it's your good old fashioned small army defending a small fortress against huge army. Where else can you see 2000 horses bearing riders sliding down a shear cliff face at the climax.

3. Band of Brothers-Battle of the Bulge/Operation market garden/D-day:these sequences are literally head spinning, with phenominal hand-held camera work and cinematography. Set the standard for modern combat realism.

4. Fellowship of the Ring-Battle of Amon hen: 8 against a couple hundred? sounds about right. far more interesting than the much larger battles of its sequels it focuses more on the heroes and packs more of an emotional wallop. it also finises off with one of the best death scenes in recent years.

5. Ran-assault on the fortress: every shot in this battle (and indeed this film) looks like a painting. opens with a prolonged sequence in which we hear no sound and only the sweeping musical score. What is most important about this battle is its heavy influence on more rescent films, most noticeably Saving Private Ryan, and Hero.

Honorable Mention...
Lawrence of Arabia
Return of the King(this one is the biggest battle if that's what your interested in)
The Matrix
Braveheart
Terminator 2

Lmfao. You mean with the French and English about to face off when they're stopped by the Police..then the film ends? Yes. Classic indeed.

That movie ANTZ had a great battle using CG bugs. It was tight!

Are we talking cartoons? or real film? What are you into BRITISH LAD? B/c there is a huge difference.

Matrix: Revolutions-Neo vs Smith and when the machines breach Zions gate
Matrix: Reloaded-mainly when neo takes on 100 smiths.
Troy

Saving Private Ryan - Mainly the beginning and end battles (They're great but Very Graphic)

Lord Of The Rings: ROTK - The end battle sequence is Amazing

Lord Of The Rings: TT - Battle of Helms Deep is awesome

X-men 3

The big space battle in return of the jedi

Gangs of New York

Scarface - the ending battle (more of a 1 man vs. a lot 😂 but still good )

Anchorman 😐

My favorite fight scene (I'm assuming this counts since Kill Bill's did) is easily in Oldboy. If you've seen it, you know which one I'm talking about.

Lord of the rings: Two towers, The return of the king
