There are a ton of good RTS's out there, (Starcraft, C&C Series, AoE, AoM), but what are your favorite RTS's, or maybe just your all time favorite.
As for me, I'd have to go with Starcraft (Brood War), I loved it.
Thunder Fox
starcraft brood war and command and conquer

Starcraft.
Too me, its the perfect RTS. I cant find any faults with it. It's extremly unique with the type of units you had, amazing balancing with three competly different sides and an amazing storyline.
I loved it.

It's wonderful how they completely balance the game so that everything can be countered in some way.

Yeah, I tend to do also.
I like taking my time and setting up my base and all that shit, so I couldnt play MP that much. I always liked setting up my defences to the point that an huge army couldnt come close to it. But Starcraft I could get into it and play MP pretty well, but I usually just played the user created maps like Turret Defense and a couple of other ones.
Age Of the Empries 3 sucked balls. I never really got into AoE like I got into Starcraft. Dont know why.

Yeah, it took me sometime to get into AoE, I hated the first one but the second one was pretty good. My personal favorite race in Starcraft was the Protoss, even though they were expensive and were forced to construct buildings on "pylons" they made up for that in excellent strength... and the Dark Templar we're just amazing.
The big EH
star wars galactic battlegrounds and age of mythology

My personal favourite was the Reaver.or as I call it, the Raper. That thing could mess up Zerg's.
I was watching my friend who was playing against somebody online, and he was really good, so he set up lurkers every where and sunken colonies and this guy would constantly try to attack him...well he got ****ed up.
So my friend is like, " well he sucks so I'm going to zergling rush him"....well it was down this long corridor and he literally had his whole army of zerglings with him...well lets say he just ran into an reaver or two and a couple of templars with that crazy storm ability...and he got screwed up by them.....and then he got attacked by the other's guys army and lost.
It was really funny
Great game though.
MadMel
age of mythology was cool, but the black and white series made it obsolete..

Sweet, nothing like pwning a whole bunch of Zerglings with a small group of guys. The Reaver (Raper lol) is awesome aswell. A Zergling rush is really only good at the beginning of the game when the enemy is weaker than when he has a massive base with better unit defence.
And I've never played AoM to tell you the truth, my friend said he would let me borrow his like two years ago, is it worth buying now?

Total Annihilation - Kind of got the whole thing rolling, the first one I ever played.
Command & Conquer: Red Alert series - For me possibly the the most "fun" RTS, didn't take itself to seriously.
Starcraft - Can't go past it, probably my favorite all time RTS, story, character and gameplay wise.
Honorable mention goes to Warcraft III.
All good. Sadly though there haven't really been any great ones in a while, and I have kind of moved away from traditional RTS in favour of more pure strategy games like the Total War series and Hearts of Iron 2. Medieval 2: Total War looks like it is going to be pretty impressive.

C&C Red Alert series was fun to play, "Conscript Reporting." I haven't played that one in awhile. I do own one of the Total War series and that's: Shogun: Total War. I picked that up a long time ago. Err, I've never played Warcraft III, just Warcraft I but it sounds fun to me. A good RTS coming up looks like the new Command and Conquer game (Tiberium Wars). The graphics look nice and it looks like a polished more fun Command and Conquer game, so that is something to look forward to RTS wise.
