I decided to start an official thread to discuss this series.
Personally, I'm disappointed in Miller's writing. He's treating Batman like Marv... which is just wrong. Lee's art is absolutely awesome, as always.
Discuss!
Grimm22
Millar's writing didn't bother me until issue #4.
I mean what the hell is up with that.
"Eat that rat" - Bats
"What?!? No!" - Dick Grayson
"Oh you'll eat it alright" - Bats
What was up with that
Black Adam
Miller has either lost it... Or is sitting at his home reading all the Internet complains while laughing and counting his money.
It's either a joker or miller actually believes this is how batman should be written..
HellMaster93
...or he's been at the crack again...
H. S. 6
I haven't read, thankfully (based on what I've heard).
It does sound kind of humorous though.
HellMaster93
Indeed. I only read one issue a while back... or maybe part of it... I reckon it was a few apges someone uploaded on another site to show how crappy it is....
H. S. 6
So does this comic exist in the same universe as All-Star Superman?
HellMaster93
Seemingly not...

No. Dark Knight Returns universe.

pretty funny summary.
Darth Vicious
Honestly for some reason the only thing I like about this comic is that Batman is a complete A**hole and that Jim Lee's art is as usual pretty impressive but besides that I really dont acre about this one or Superman. I think their attemp to create an Ultimate universe of their own has failed so far.
Lucid Lui
It's an entertaining read.
ScarletSpider
Thanks for that website summary, Black Adam, that was hilarious.
"Bruce Wayne. Billionaire, playboy, creepy boy watcher."
"Dick Grayson gonna learn he'd best not be mouthin' off to the goddamn Batman."

Why is that people think All-Star is an attempt at an ultimate line? Ultimate DC was done years ago. I believe they called it Kingdom Come.

I was just about to ask the same thing.

Kingdom Come is more like Earth X than Ultimate Marvel

Well Kingdom Come doesn't suck so scratch that. 1234
A more realistic/updated take on the characters and settings is what Ultimate Marvel is and thats what Kingdom Come is as well.

hysterical2
That was awesome!
jumpmann
I kind of liked the first issue. Everything else has been pure wtf lol though.
"Then we cut back to Batman and Robin, sitting in the Batmobile, talking. We're going to see a lot of this, because it takes them the next two goddamned issues to actually make it TO the Batcave, which is apparently somewhere in northern Canada, given the amount of driving they have to do."
"SUPERMAN HATES MILK WITH THE FIERY INTENSITY OF A THOUSAND SUNS!"
Couple samples, that page was the funniest thing I've read in a while.
Grimm22
1st issue - Good
2nd issue - Ok
3rd issue - Good
4th issue - Awful
HellMaster93
'You serious? I haven't read 'em... now I REALKLy want to for a laugh that's LONG overdue... scannage?
SnakeEyes
I just hope that it gets better. The art is enough for me to keep buying it... for now. I bet DC regrets putting Miller on the duo. I think he's lost his mind or something. Meh, I just want the story to go somewhere.
HellMaster93
Restart the series... or just burn Miller at the stake...
H. S. 6
The thing that made me laugh was when Clark is looking at the kidnapped person ad on the milk carton, and it says "Fifteen hours ago..." Then they cut to Dick and Bruce... who are still in the Batmobile.
That is terrible writing on its own.
HellMaster93
EXACTLY! Miller's past his best... and looks like a paedophile...
Validus
To be fair, he always looked like a pedophile.
ScarletSpider
Well...just in case you guys forgot.
Dick Grayson.
Age 12.
H. S. 6
I thought Dick Grayson, age 12, was always age 11?
HellMaster93
No. dick Garyson is age 12. In cas4e you misunderstood, let me reiterate that: Dick Grayson= 12 years old. and, for those reatrds who piss with the Goddam Batman at home, dick Garyson was age f**king 12 years old!
H. S. 6
So Dick Grayson, age 12, isn't Dick Grayson, age 13?
Jeez, they really need to try to clear these things up!
HellMaster93
No, I fear that dick Garyson, age 12, may truly be age 12 as miller obsessively needs to point out that Dick Grayson, age 12, is age 12. So I believe Dick Grayson, age 12, is age 12...
