So yeah...I'm sitting here trying to figure out what would be my annual cost for college tuition and fees. The room and board amount is set but the college tution one I'm confused.

So it says:

Undergrad Tuition:

In-State (1-3 Hours)
In-State(4-6)

and so forth to In-State (12 + Hours)

erm..I dunno which one should apply to me...

Can anyone help..?

confused

I've no clue how you guys work that
Our is a set fee for each class so it all depends on what class you wanna take.

Punkyhermy
ooh..okay...hmm..so I probably won't be able to decide until my orientation I suppose then...

I've figured my schedule out and I only have 13 hours of class a week now w00t

Mr. Bacon
i think it applies to how long it would take you to get to your school yes

so it would be based on your driving time to it

that would be my guess yes

If it's anything like in my experience, here's how I see it.

It sounds like the first option is where you reside both in the same state and the same county as the college. This always has the least amount of tuition rate.

With the second option, it sounds like it's if you live in the same state as the college, but not the same county. In my experience it was referred to "out-of-distrcit" tuition rate. It's a frustrating situation because you could live as little as one mile out of county range, but you'll be paying two to three times more just for that fact.

The last option sounds like you live in the same state as the college, but even if you live within the same county, if you just moved and haven't lived in the state for more than one calendar year then you'll be charged what is referred to as "out-of-state" tuition rate. Those are always the highest, in my experience up to five times as much tuition rates.

Hope this helps. smile

I think you have to figure out how many hours of class you have a week, then compare it to the hours listed with the instate section.

hmm...I'm confused. Is it hours my home is away or hours of classes a week? confused

silver_tears
Hours of classes, for example mine is 13 hours so I'd look under the instate 12+ hours section for an estimate of my tuition.
Which would make sense, more hours of class more expensive.

Punkyhermy
oohh...okay.So it definitely IS classes?confused

silver_tears
Well give it a try with classes, figure out how many hours you have of class and then compare the tuition.

It would also make sense to have different amounts for things like out of state, and international, because my school works the same way.

Punkyhermy
yeah...okay...smile

hmm..I'll see what I can do...
