Anyway, it probably depends on whether or not Alan has a shield up coming into the fight. Sans the cheap wood technique, Jay can't really hurt Alan unless he speedblitzes him before he has a shield up.

Alan for the win. Jay isn't going to throw wood at him unless they are fighting in a forrest or something, because he isn't a matter manipulator. Anytime Jay would try to "speedblitz" Alan, the automated shields would go up because any kind of punch at light speed is fatal. However, Alan himself is like a mixture of Hal and Kyle, he'll pull something out of the bag like GLs do and beat Jay. He might just will a black hole and Jay would be SCREWED.
