In the TPM, it is noted by Obi-wan that Qui-Gon should not "go against the Jedi Council again." What did he mean by this? What did Qui-Gon do in the past that made the Council angry? Does this have to do with is non-disappearence??

I ask to many questions smile

He meant Qui-Gon had defied the JC before, doesnt mean the JC was angry. Dark side are angry. Maybe we learn through Obi-Wan what Qui-Gon did in EPII.

Whatever he did, Qui-Gon surely was a defiant guy, which will pass to OB1, and will certainly pass to Anakin next.

DarthBorgie
what could he have done though?

Darth Pants
Probably just the usual naughty tricks he gets up to, mind tricks to make life slightly easier, etc. If anyone read the TPM novel, he actually steals a power source from Watto to get the pod running. Probably stuff like that which, whilst for a good cause, makes the Jedi seem less like calm transcendent beings, and more like people who take sides too easily. Look at the scorn in the remark towards Padme, regarding her trusting his judgement. She's 14, you wouldn't see Alec Guinness' Obi Wan coming out with that.

Mind you, he refused to use his mind trick to help Amidala convince Boss Nass. he clearly still has plenty of traits that make him out to be more a wanderer than a rogue.
