Over the 4th of July weekend the North Koreans test lauchned 6 missles, including one long-range missle.
Given the past nuclear amibtions (and subsequent disregard for the U.S. or U.N.'s feelings on such ambitions) of N. Korean leader Kim Jong Ill, what, if any, impact do you think that these tests will have for the U.S?

*cough*
Actually it was confirmed there were 7 missiles.
The Black Ghost
Yeh and the Taepedong- the intercontinental one- blew up after 40 seconds in the air... and they thought they would be making us look like fools on independence day...idiots.

Seven missiles, some of which could "theoretically" reach the US or Australia, despite the best showing being feeble at best. Firstly it is the same as always - so many other nations have weapons tests many of which aren't in compliance with UN conventions, I see no reason why people should be allowed to call for war with N. Korea because they do the same as so many other nations out there.
So far there has been a lot of humming and harring from foreign ministers, the only nation that seems to be thinking of doing something concrete is Japan who claim they are considering sanctions against them. The rest are saying "we hope China takes care of it" - in the end I can't see any real global action taking place over the matter - certainly not the US invading.

something must have went wrong with those missiles, they didn't make that far simply because they are bottle rockets, not missiles.

Regardless it would, logically, seem to show that N. Korea is hardly on the verge of devastating the world with it's long range munitions, and that knee jerk reactions based on fear are not not suitable for political reactions to the tests.

funny huh? n. korea has had weapons of mass destruction for quite some time and no, and what does dubya the monkey tard have to say about it? nothing. he's too busy lying and murdering for profit.

If only Team America had been made after he shot the bottle rockets. Parker and Stone would have had a field day with that one.

i agree with that...they've been trying to develop the taepo dong 2 missle for years and they're no further forward now than their last test which was in 1998...hardly anything to warrent alarm...yet

There is no problem here, Kim Jong Ill is just trying to show off. He wants to be seen as force to reacon with, but his latest attempt just reassures that he's a turd.
I do feel sorry for the people of North-Korea, to be under the rule of him, and for those in South in case he eventually stirs shit up enough to invoke an assault on the island.

'Hahaa Western world! You doom is inebibeble!'
(Jong Ill pops his bottle rocket)
(rocket fails to travel beyond the border, and only cause a lone farmer a mild headache)
- 'what was that last transmission, our doom is inevitable?'
'Yes! inebibeble! Open your freaking ears!!! Open wide for number two!'

I know that North Korea does not have good intentions, but U. S. does get offended too easily by everything, they are always looking for opportunities do make war as they have a lot of weaponry in their armory that needs to be used so they can get a return for their large investiments in weapons.

I'm sorry, but I refuse to take any missile named "Dong" seriously.
The Taepodong? It's like a bad d*ck joke. Ironically it couldn't stay up for that long either, before it flopped into a liquid-mass.

I don't think it will be a problem with the U.S. but as said before Japan MAY do something about it but not likely. I also agree on the fact that the U.S. does get offended pretty easily over things so with G. Dub in office who knows what might happen.

The only reason Kim jong had those bottle rockets shot because he wanted to embrace American freedom, the only problem is that the rockets didn't make it that far simply because he is too cheap to buy expensive ones.
cking
he was just trying to put up a good fireworks display and his cheapness hurt him and because of that made us look bad.
Atlantis001
Yes, actually he was helping to put up fireworks for the 4th july celebration, and U. S. talk so bad of him.

cking
the u.s told him to get fireworks worth more than $100 each but no he went for the 50 cent bottle rockets instead. what a moron, the u.s should declare war on north Korea for Kim jong being so cheap and disrespecting the fourth of July by shooting useless bottle rockets.

Grimm22
NK might as well just get a catapult and some boulders because they suck at making missles

cking
I feel sorry for north Korea they have to depend on bottle rockets to be any good at anything.rolleyes1
