Do Ghosts Exist?

Well,..do they?

We once had a very extensive thread on ghosts here, which included both acclaimed proof and scepticism.

Are you a mod in the making? If so, did I break any rules? And if so, I'll try to be more "groundbreaking" the next time around. But the word "ghost" is entrenched in religion everywhere, Ex: the Trinity -the father the son and the holy ghost.

And if I'm posting a thread on the existence of ghosts on a religious forum I obviously want to know what the writers on here think of the subject from a religious point of view, Mr. sir.

Ghosts are manifestations of evil spirits.

There are no such things as Ghosts.

Yes, ghosts exists but they are actually demonic spirits.

no, I'm actually not a mod in training. I was simply stating that Since we already have a thread on whitchcraft etc, you could have combind the two. We dont need a simple poll or thread for every little question that crosses the mind.

Everything can be traced back to religion. But I feel you should be more specific. This thread could have as esily gone in the Philosophy forum or the OTF or the General Forum. Why here? You should have tried to tie it in more to religious concepts imo.

Of course there are many things we don't understand, and ghosts can be one of them......especially since I believe energy cannot be destroyed. Where does it go??? There is also the possibility of other dimension's. There are also negatives and positives that exist....So you might be referring to some negative type energy as a demon, but in reality demons don't exist...

You truly amuse me. You repeatedly deny most of what I write without any rhyme or reason. My basis for what I write is always THE WORD OF THE LIVING GOD--THE BIBLE.

Debbiejo I am starting to suspect that you are just simply suppressing the truth of God's Word. The world calls it DENIAL. It is kind of immature and child-like. I say up and you say down. I say right and you say left. The difference: I support what I write with Scripture.

Jesus frequently encountered people who were DEMON POSSESSED. The Jews accused Jesus of having a demon. Even they believe in demons.

John 8:48-49
Then the Jews answered and said to Him (Jesus) , “Do we not say rightly that You are a Samaritan and have a demon ?”
Jesus answered, “I do not have a demon; but I honor My Father, and you dishonor Me.

Luke 11:20
But if I cast out demons with the finger of God, surely the kingdom of God has come upon you.

What is Jesus casting out with the finger of God--energy? Did Jesus say energy? No! Jesus said demon. In fact the word demon occurs 82 times in the Bible (the word appears in both the Old Testament and New Testament). So guess what that means Debbiejo? You guessed it Moses wrote about it. Don't you hate when that happens?

Mark 6:13
And they cast out many demons , and anointed with oil many who were sick, and healed them.

What were Jesus' disciples casting out of people Debbiejo? Oh that's right they were casting out energy--not.

Mark 7:29-30
Then He said to her, “For this saying go your way; the demon has gone out of your daughter.”
And when she had come to her house, she found the demon gone out , and her daughter lying on the bed.

Wow, would you look at that; the Bible states that it was a demon that came out of the girl and not energy.

Mark 16:9
Now when He rose early on the first day of the week, He appeared first to Mary Magdalene, out of whom He had cast seven demons .

Amazing this woman had seven energies...oops, I mean demons.

Luke 4:33-35
Now in the synagogue there was a man who had a spirit of an unclean demon. And he cried out with a loud voice,
But Jesus rebuked him, saying, “Be quiet, and come out of him !” And when the demon had thrown him in their midst, it came out of him and did not hurt him.

Wow even Jesus knows that demons exist.

Luke 8:30
Jesus asked him, saying, “What is your name?” And he said, “Legion,” because many demons had entered him.

This many was possessed with many demons. The demons name was Legion because many demons had entered him.

Matthew 12:42-44
When an unclean spirit goes out of a man, he (the demon) goes through dry places, seeking rest, and finds none. Then he says, ‘I will return to my house from which I came.’ And when he comes, he finds it empty, swept, and put in order.

James 2:19
You believe that there is one God. You do well. Even the demons believe—and tremble!

I could go on quoting several more Scriptures that prove that demons exist. But in the face of all of this you still will not believe. Incredible. Well, I believe God; demons do exist.

They either do exist or theres some weird explanation for the spooks i've had in some houses...

You just don't get it do you Debbiejo. I am taking God at His Word that what is written in His Word is true. What about that don't you understand? I do not have to see to believe as you do. I walk by faith not by sight. I take God at His Word. True faith in God does not need to see in order to believe.

HAVE YOU SEEN a demon?, with your own eyes?, EYES that god gave you to see . Eyes that are connected normally to ur brain, from which you made to think. NOT to copy and paste quotes and be completely closed to the world and its differences.

Now, I believe ghosts exist. Like Melinda on Ghost Whisper says, 'Some peopel just can't cross over'. They have unfinished business.
There have many stories from peple who claim to have seen a ghost, and I believe them.

IMO, if you haven't seen a ghost, you can't say they don't exist.
