I never understood why everyone liked Alien so much... I thought it was quite bad.

How? Why?

Because it was dark thus you saw very little, the imagination was sent on a scary ride because of the eiry atmosphere, it was original, and believable. The best of the Aien films was #1 imo. No fancy effects, just fear.

I liked them both.
Alien was a very scary imaginative thriller movie.
And Aliens was a great ride.

Wheres the love for Gattaca?

Its pretty good, but a little slow.

Gattaca is my favorite Sci-Fi film at the moment.

Yeah. John Carpenter's "Thing" is excellent. Good call.

Pitch Black is also very underrated. It's kind of hard to fit it into a neat category, though.
