The entire issue is basically about Gerber and not man-thing, as are most issues from vol 1 (they are about the people and situations man-thing finds, not necessarily stories about the monster itself)

I didn't think so. He was there just to watch and write a story about it. The storyline itself was a combination of being strange, good and lame at the same time.

And in X-Men, when they are chasing Impossible Man, the X-Men show up in the Marvel Headquarters.

Didnt Stan Lee draw reed back to normal after Doom scarred him?

Richard And Wendy Pini showed up in a Marvel comic. And there name was hinted at on another character in another.
