Beyonder limited his powers greatly...in order to try and fit in.
He limited himself so in fact, that he got Drunk during that issue in a bar....and was drunk when Dr Strange was going to pull a fast one.

One man can not be in two univeres, in this case a fictional one and our world. But hey Beyonder did also have the powers of the writers...

I've read Stan Lee's draft for the FF and let me just tell you this much, it was awful. Lee wrote some great storys, but without Kirby there wouldnt be any Marvel comics.

i think galan's point is that, as TOAA has never been shown or referenced specifically as a character within the marvel comics medium, it's possible the living tribunal's allegiance to him/it is a breech of the fourth wall. that stan lee, as "TOAA," exists beyond the infinite of the comicverse; much in the same way many believe god to exist beyond our comprehension of reality. it's really a pointless argument, and over-analyzed, but i believe that's the sum and substance of it.

I've never read an issue with Beyonder before but apparently, a lot of people say Secret Wars II was absolutely horrible.

I really don't trust the majority in most instances and I'm panning to try and find al the issues I can with the Beyonder. I should start with the Secret Wars series, right?

Beyonder was supreme, he was eberything outside the Multiverse, and it didn't take long before he was everything inside it as well.

Classic Molecule Man was capable of said feat, with ease in fact.

I'm not questioning whether or not he was capable of the feat, nor whether or not that blast was of the magnitude stated. I'm saying that power isn't always illustrated to match the stated level. hence my reference to Sentry going all out and not even affecting a City, whilst supposedly having the power of a million exploding suns.

there's many many many examples of such 'mismatches', but they don't (in my opinion, of course) diminish the feat, merely remind us of the constraints of comics.

This thread brings me back memories, too. One of my first comics is Rachel confronting Beyonder. Such a classic story. The only character, IMO, that rivals Beyonder are the mysterious Overseers. They're basically the same type of character (beings above space and time, lies outside of creation, not bonded by the Presence, and rules over an infinite amount of universes, etc...)

so in fact pre-retcon beyonder = TOAA ??? (just a different name)



he's suppose to be outside creation but then there's many like him (the race of Beyonders) so that kinda takes away from the "one above everything else " thing
