It wasn't a straight up fist fight. If you remember correctly, Grundy was beating Batman pretty handily, then Grundy tried to remove his mask and got a face full of tear gas, and THAT'S when Batman owned.

isn't it interesting that in man of steel 116 superman gets handled by 3 hits that comic came out in september but in adventures of superman 595 which came out in october superman stalemates darkseid without having any upgrade and the omega beams just don't work on superman WHY??????? They have always worked on him before
