ok so you know how jack was taken down by the kraken? well is he in the kraken or some hell dimention at the end of the movie? where is it that will and all them have to rescue him from? i never thought about it but my friend brought it up.

according to wikipedia it's going to be purgatory..which is like stuck in limbo..you are not in heaven and you are not in hell either..I think thats what it means

so does purgatory at all correspond with any place on earth? or is it an unnatural place? (im not catholic lol)

because dont they also have to go to singapore at some point? lots of traveling, as usual...

I think its just a place thats there..but its not a real world. There is usually no one else there with you.

The end of the earth will probably be where they pull him out from..

i smell some fantastic special effects in the making...

i reckon it's gona be the end of the world that Jack is sent to...


and then that's where liz,will etc. are all going to save him...


but i duno

davy jones locker which is pretty much purgatory. religion doesnt really have all that much to do with it...or maybe it does..idk..it's not a real place as far as im concerned

Purgatory, according to Catholicism, is the place where the dead's souls go to see if they will accepted into heaven or be sent to hell based on how they lived their lives - were they a good person, did they do good deeds, did they put others before themselves, etc....Usually St. Peter stands at the Pearly Gates of Purgatory....

But since this movie is surely not based on religion I don't think this version of Purgatory will have anything to do with the Purgatory Jack will be in, I guess. Just can't imagine what POTC 3 holds in store.

That is how Tia explains it at the end - "would you be willing to sail to the ends of the earth to bring back Jack and his precious Pearl" and she also mentions dark waters and haunted shores....more creatures to be sure....I just hope that the three main characters are intertwined early in the movie, I'd hate to have to sit through 30 minutes before we get to see the reaction between Liz and Jack after the last dramatic scene between the two.

I think it is supposed to be Davy Jone's Locker, it just is similar to Purgatory

are we talking dante's inferno or the last scene from animated Hercules?

That's what i heard. A desert with wierd crabs..

Yeah. He's stuck in Davey Jones locker at World's End where there are... let's just say, rather strong crabs. World's End is in a sense a purgatory for people who are still being judged whether or not to go to heaven. World's End is literally a waterfall going off the 'edge of the world', and below the waterfall is kind of a desert paradise/oasis.

I would have thought since Davy Jones was after him Jack would go to Davy Jones' Locker.

From what I've read of the script, there arn't any weird creatures except for the crabs and getting out of World's End has a lot to do with the Emerald Flash.

davey jones locker is an idiom for the bottom of the sea

so jack doesnt end up in jones locker..he ends up at the purgotory watever u spell it. so ur neither alive or dead just in complete limbo??
