I'd probablly be a GDF regular were it not for their cynical additudes towards everything from religion to suicide. Such a negitive outlook on life can't be healthy, can it?

What's your point? If everyone was so readily accepting everything you'd enjoy it more?

-AC No, I'm just saying, everyone looks down on almost EVERYTHING in the GDF. I'm not the internet to attempt to have fun. A good debate every once and a while, but when you propose an idea, and people just say stuff like 'Yes it is" or "That can't be true because there's no God." I respect peoples opinios, but the thing I don't like about it is their lack of accepting anything, and their lack of explaining their beliefs/opinions/etc.

I don't know which GDF you visited but the one I frequent the people explain their own beliefs. And of course they don't readily accept anyones views. I mean, that's jsut common, isn't it?

I don't accept peoples views, but I can usually see where they're coming from, and rationalize their belief.

Well that is done in the GDF of course but it is a forum for debate not for "Yeah I can see where you are coming from" ...and there are very opposing ideas in it, so it is not hard to imagine there are only few agreements.

As Bardock said, I'm not sure what GDF you visit, because that's hardly the jist of the forum there.

Blame the people not the forum. When the GDF was created it didn't(although you could never really be sure at times) a big sticker that said cynical, arrogant members post here.

Although it isn't exactly widespread, I agree that there is a higher level of cynicism on the GDF. More people there seem to present their opinions and beliefs as fact and dismiss others instantly.
Its not that everyone there is cynical, I guess its just that more cynical people choose to post there than in other forums.

Well, there's not much space for cynicism when you only count from 1 to infinity.

Perhaps they consider being cynical a pre-requisite, to be intelligent enough to post regularly in the GDF and create some kind of status for yourself there you also have to be a pompous ass?

I don't think intelligence goes hand in hand with cynicism, which is probably why I'll never be fully accepted into the GDF Inner Circle
