Or you could do that via phone, email, IM...which I prefer.

I like to have control over who can contact me and who can't. 90% of the people I know from school I want nothing to do with.

I don't think anyone was particularly anti-social. They all answered your question, admittedly most people don't use it but what did you expect? You asked an open-ended question.

If it's primarily for those in higher education then you may find the majority of people here won't be using it. Most people haven't reached higher education yet and there are a lot of people here who just don't have any, like me.
