DarkC
Okay, so this is what I do when I get bored and rather imaginative. I've decided that we'd play Chicago because, well, I hate 'em for some odd reason. They're one of the worst teams and they still manage to beat my town's. If you like it, I can write up a first period of play sometime.
And if you don't like my choice of music, lines, or setting....meh. Enjoy.
(In-shot of the stadium, all dark and Mist's avatar being illuminated by a specially selected series of spotlights.)
(Opening echoes to Disturbed's Ten Thousand Fists starts. A heavy drum tattoo begins, accompanied by electric guitar.)
(A storm siren starts wailing. The crowd roars.)
PA Announcer: "Ladies and Gentlemeeen.....please welcome....YOUR! KMCEEEEEEEEEEEE..."
(Ten Thousand Fists' opening lyrics: note"SURVIVOOOOOR!"note)
(Heavy Guitar Riff begins.)
(The darkness is penetrated by a sudden blast of red light, illuminating the stadium.)
"FORUUUUUUUUMS!"
Raz steps out of the boards and skates down the ice in a loop in his own end, closely followed by Ushgarak. Mist third, and everyone else bunches up at the end and follows.

(Take notice of the Jumbotron.)
TV Announcer one: Hello, everyone, this is Jim Hughson.
TV Annoucer two: And this is Andy Murray.
JH: We're here live at the Microsoft Studios Pavilon in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. And this is the game we've all been waiting for. Down to game seven of a best of seven series in the Stanley Cup Final. It's either do or die now, Andy.
AM: That's right, Jim. It's amazing how success or failure can be decided by so many small factors, yet here we are.
JH: Chicago had a chance to close it out and win the cup at home in game six last Friday, but KMC emerged triumphant with a monumental solo effort by Dusty in the second overtime to send this series back to Manitoba for a deciding game.
AM: These are two great teams, it's on the wire now.
JH: We'll be back after a word from our sponsors.
(Annoyingly long string of mildly entertaining TV ads, including Dairy Queen.)
(View switches back to the overhead camera in the MS Pavilon, just in time to hear the opening heavy guitar from Celldweller's The Last Firstborn
(Mist skates around the corner and mimicks doing a guitar solo on hocket stick. Girls scream and wave furiously at him.)
Dance-techno riff begins:
noteI hear the sound of a Heart,
From the shadow in the dark,
Waiting for the Poison to hit its Mark.
I see the darkness surround,
The shape on the ground,
The killer straight up, and a body face down.note
-Lance digs hard through the corner and skates around in a powerful bowlegged stride. Ice chips fly and gleam in the orange light.
-Ladyluck lifts her goaltender mask and sprays her face with the water bottle.
-Raz takes a hard slapshot from the point.
-Captain REX puckhandles around the corner.
-Maynard wrists a shot off the crossbar.
-Alpha Centauri backhands a pass off the boards to Impediment, who switches to backward skating and crosses the crease line.
-BackFire, in his bulky goalie gear, skates loosely near the hash marks.
I hear the din of the screams,
Sorrow in streams,
The smell of farewell and gasoline.
I see a heart set free, and my legacy,
I hear a voice from a shadow that is beckoning me.
(techno instrumental segment begins.)
"And now, your starting lineup for tonight's game....starting in goal, number eleven.......LAAAAAAAAAAADYLUUUUUUCK!"
(Crowd Screams. Some shirtless male hotshot in the crowd waves a "I LOVE YOU LADYLUCK" sign. )
"On defense, number 54.....LAAAAAAAANCEWWIIIIIIIIIINDUUUU!"
"On defense, number 78.....WRAAAATHFULLLLLLLLLLLLL...DWAAARF!"
"On right wing, number 19......MIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIST!"
(High pitched, excited screams from girls.)
"On left wing, number 24......UUUUUSHHGARAAAAAAAAAK!
"And finally at center, your captain, number 12....RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAZ!!!!!"
(Crowd noise goes to a deafening pitch.)
"And now, ladies and gentlemen...please welcome our one and only Ladyluck for the singing of the national anthems."
(Crowd screams in delight.)
Ladyluck takes off her mask, trapper, and blocker and sets them on top of her goal. Beaming, she takes her place in the spotlight.
"God save our gracious Queen
Long live our noble Queen,
God save the Queen:
Send her victorious,
Happy and glorious,
Long to reign over us:
God save the Queen.
O Lord, our God, arise,
Scatter thine enemies,
And make them fall:
Confound their politics,
Frustrate their knavish tricks,
On thee our hopes we fix:
God save us all.
Thy choicest gifts in store,
On her be pleased to pour;
Long may she reign:
May she defend our laws,
And ever give us cause
To sing with heart and voice
God save the Queen."
(Crowd roars appreciatively.)
"Oh, say can you see...by the dawn's early light,
What so proudly we hailed...at the twilight's last gleaming?
Whose broad stripes and bright stars...through the perilous fight,
O'er the ramparts we watched, were so gallantly streaming?
And the rocket's red glare...the bombs bursting in air...
Gave proof through the night, that our flag was still there.
Oh, say, does that star spangled banner yet waaaaaave....
O'er the laaaaaand of the freeeeeeeeeee....and the home of the....braaaaave."
(Crowd screams yet again.)
"Oh...Canada.
Our home and native laaaaaand.
True patriot loooove, in all thy sons command.
With glowing hearts we see thee rise,
The true north strong and free..."
(airhorns blow three times after "free", accenting the 'beat' of O Canada.)
"From faaaaar and wide, O, Caaaaanada,
We stand on guard for thee.
God keep our land, glorious and free.
O, Canada, we stand on guard for thee...."
(Crowd starts out with a dull roar and begins crescendoing.)
"Oh, Canada, we stand on guaaaaard...foooooooor....theeeeeee!"
(Deafening cheers and applause.)
(Ladyluck smiles for the camera and starts blowing dramatic kisses into the crowd. Her teammates boo her playfully. As she skates by them, everyone taps her enormous shinpads with their sticks for good luck.)
GM: All right, there was Ladyluck, KMC's starting goalie singing the national anthems of all three nationalities. Let's have a look at both our goalies; Ladyluck is 15-8-0 in these playoffs, has 1.78 Goals Per Game, and has a save percentage of .918. At the other end for Chicago, we have Nicholai Khabibulin, who is 15-10-0, GPG of 2.10, and a save percentage of .901. The referees this game will be Don Koharski and Jim Forthwright, Stephen Grahame and Nicholas Pinerola will be working the lines. We're ready to drop the puck here at the MS Pavilon, and here goes....
And if you don't like my choice of music, lines, or setting....meh. Enjoy.
