How many Dvd's do you have ? I got around 50 small collection

WoW, I found my S part 2 DVD after weeks lost.

Small collection for me 2.. around 80 I think

I have nineteen DVDs and three boxsets.

At the moment I have around 650-700 dvds that are mine, and the family collection somewhere else is around 259 at the moment.

I used to think there's no such thing as "too many", but when I was gutting my collection to pay for my HDTV, I realized there was. Which is why I cut my collection in half. So many of the movies I owned weren't really worth owning, muchless worthy of multiple viewings in a years time. Besides, if I miss them, I'll rent them for free or spend $5 at Pawn America and get them back, if need be.

Yeah, I still love movies, but I don' have to own every single title I moderately liked at some point in time. I did ditch a good 25-30 titles because they'll be on HD-DVD by the end of the year, and I have plans to upgrade within a month or so.

Anycrap, don't worry about what anyone else thinks about when it comes to the number of DVD's you have. Quality and personal preferences is always more important.

Exactly. A lot of people wonder why I have some of the titles I do in my library, and I always tell them, "What does it matter?" If I wanted to, with the money I make and the connections I have, I could have probably twice the enitre library I have now. But that would mean owning a lot of shitty titles that I'll never watch more than once, or maybe even not at all. This has never been a contest for me. It doesnt matter how many movies you own, so long as you like the movies that you do own and get personal pleasure ouf them each and every time you watch them.

Same here, nearly every dvd I have there is something I will watch over and over in it. There are a few I probably will get rid of though, but that's rare.

Somewhere in the 200-225 range (unless I completely loss track and its even more). My problem is that I don't have a job and I keep buying DVD's and I even buy some that I don't plan on watching even a second time. Its like movies have become my obsession and I want to watch and own as many as I can. Since I'm always watching new ones, I rarely have time to re-watch ones I bought except for maybe just a few times or unless its one of maybe 20 that I have watched countless times.

I think when it comes down to it, I'm a collector. I grew up collecting cards (I have probably tens of thousands of just basketball cards). Now I charish a DVD (especially special edition and rare ones) even if I don't plan on watching them. Also, its nice for when a friend asks "What is that?" At that point I'll usually say, "Oh, you have to see it" and then I'll watch it with them.

i have somwhere around 120, but they're all boxed up i'm living with my friends at the moment and his fiance is sick so shes been home all day for two weeks and i never get to watch any of them...

around 850 or so. 822 I have catalogged........but 30 or so small independant dvds not listed in the database on that site. All box sets are counted as 1......so all 3 Indiana Jones dvds in the box set are counted as 1, all 4 Alien dvds in the box set are counted as 1, etc. If my box sets were to be seperated it would be around 900.

I keep all my dvds. I have far to many to keep in shelves anymore (without lining a wall of my living room). I have cd binders......208 disc capacity each, 5 of them. All my dvds are catalogged on a MSWP file......in order of binders 1-5.....in order they are inserted in the binder. If I want to watch a movie......I just type it's name into the "find" function......it will skip to the dvd name, showing me exactly where it's at, which binder it is in. That's hypothetical as I've never used it. I have a great memory. I know where each of my dvds are located (round abouts.....which binder....which general area, I'm not rain man).

I have a small shelf in my living room that I keep box sets on......

I'd say input those titles into the database, unless you don't care. That's how any of these titles are added on the site, members of the site submit the information. I've had to do it a couple times myself.

I sell them to a video store or video game store. I try the video store first 'cause the credit there would be more worth my while, as I'm not a big gamer.

I've only had to sell one movie because it was a blindbuy and I hated it so much (Wrong Turn). I've sold about five wrestling DVDs because it just lost its appeal to me. Other than those, I've only sold a few when I upgraded to the newer edition.

yeah generally i dont sell my dvds, i might upgrade like wolfie if the new version has something worthy on it but if i know a box set or something like that will come out i wait (like with Kill Bill, havn't bought them, waiting for The Whole Bloody Affair to come out)

I upgrade also......but still don't get rid of my old ones for some reason......I'm very lazy.

They Live because I won't get but maybe $0.50 for it at CD Warehouse, same for Spinal Tap, I will never part with Shaun of the Dead, Evil Dead is the Elite Entertainment edition which is somewhat OOP, and Ginger Snaps because it's the Canadian edition which is increasinly harder to find, and the only release of the movie in Widescreen, anamorphic at that.

I kind of got bored owning DVD's. In my estimation, with Netflix, it's pointless to go and spend $$$ on movies that I'll watch maybe once or twice a year when I can spend $20 a month and watch 50 through Netflix, just renting them.

Numbers never meant anything to me. It actually depressed me at times.

I think to own a good large digital entertainment package, you'd need a strong DVD collection to back it up. I don't mean you have to own 500, but 5 doesn't seem enough for all that good equipment.

And I like owning because I don't have to rely on Hollywood Video or Netflix to get a movie I'm craving to watch right now. I'm my own video store and they're all at my disposal.

Anyway, back on topic, I'm at 395 listings now.

I've got Comcast, I've got DVR, I've got HD programming, and I've got Netflix. Having personal libraries is cool, it's just limiting yourself ultimately.

I wish I had around 400 DVDs. When I'm in my late 20s or something my collection will hopefully have grown to about that much. Although I will have hardly any money when in university later this year and when I leave I'll be in debt so I may have to cut down on how many I buy I have 109 right now, which is amazing compared to all my friends. Most of them love music more than films and rarely buy DVDs but one loves movies too and she has 60. It's my birthday on Wednesday and I'm getting at least 6 DVDs so yay!

I have 156 DVD's and 14 Box Sets. I'm running out of room for them all, I'm going to have to start putting some in boxes soon.

Porn is cheaper nowadays. You can get 100hrs (10discs) for 32.99.

Only bad thing is that there a few repeat scenes in the discs.

I have 0 porn titles and one incredibly hot and willing girlfriend.

And I think that I'm going to sell off the vast majority of them. I understand where Cory is coming from now, seeing as how my dvd addiction is not nearly what is was 6 months ago. I'd rather have the money so I can buy more video games, or spend it on my kid. I just need to find a good outlet to sell them for a good price.

Currently 663 (including box sets). But I've ordered two more, so it will soon be 665.

all are real dvds. I've been collecting since early 2000.......if I think I'll watch the movie more than once or the cost is cheap, I'll just buy it instead of renting it. If I rent something and like it, I normally end up buying it when the price drops down to around $9.99. My wife does the same......hence all the chick flicks scattered throughout.

i have around 300 dvds. 100 of them are legally made purchased frome the store. the others ive copied them from renting them at blockbuster. i usually rent them then copy isntead of buying it. unless its like a tv series or something then i buy it of if its a movie i really like then i purchase.

I have around 50 to 60 dvds.....some of them I haven't watched yet....lol, I just have this urge to buy them and just watch them when I feel like it....

Less than 20, I mostly rent dvds since I'll never want to watch most films again.

where do you put them all?

My box sets are on 2 small bookshelves in my den, as are my HD-DVDs. My dvds are in 6 leather 308 capacity binders on afore mentioned book shelves. My dvd cases are in 3 rubbermaid tubs in my storage shed.

Shelf space is the only thing that's really a problem for me with DVDs. What are everyone's thoughts on the digital movement? i.e. an external hard drive with your titles to save some shelf space?

I could never do that, I like to see the box, got a lot of dvds in special edition boxs, fold outs, tin boxes, slid cases etc.

they are the fave ones of my collection and i love my collection of Horror Classics raging from the Universal Horrors of the 30s up til the Classics of the mid eighties.

That's like a relative of mine, he has a massive collection(not in the thousands though).

All mine in my collection are real dvds, except for two. A relative brought me Ong Bak years ago before it was out in cinemas anywhere outside of Asia because he wanted to show me the 'next best thing' since Bruce Lee etc, and also The Woods on 2 disc VCD(I don't know about VCDs, I bought it in a legal film shop in Hong Kong, are they illegal here in the UK).

I'm not a big fan of keeping them in binders because of the rubbing the discs do in those sleeves.

I don't like it. I like having the physical copy in my hand.

And say in the future, DVD, Blu-Ray, etc. is long gone and everything is digitally downloaded to people's hard drives. We pay about $10 per movie to be downloaded to this. I build up a nice collection of say, 652 titles, then boom, my hard drive crashed. I just lost all those movies. Damn. Too bad we didn't stick to the old system. 'Cause then I would just have to fork over $40 for a DVD player and I still have all my movies.

Downloads will never replace having the physical copy.

Brick is fab, buy it!! One with a nice slipcase here in the UK, if you are in the UK.

Physically copies always, couldn't stand if there was mostly digital film downloads, but that will not happen for a longgggggg time, don't worry. Plus they will not get rid of physical purchases completely, not fair on people who don't use computers. Would be an uproar.

60 or 70 films, plus some TV box sets and shit, and a load of stuff on VHS. I got rid a load of DVDs recently, to try to get a better collection.

I only have about six VHS in my collection now. Finally replaced my favourites onto DVD. I'm not doing that for blu ray though.

I have around 130 bought DVD's and at least another 1300 burned movies(from Netflix rentals), though It could really be a few hundred more. I lost count.

I keep them in those large DVD binders, I categorize each binder A-Z. I really need to number each binder and make spreadsheets of what is in them. Maybe one day I'll do it and post my collection.

I've recently slowed by burning though, as I rarely dig into the folders and watch something, at most, a few times a year. Seems like a waste of space and money, even though I pay about $20.00 for a hundred blank disc.

I used to have 50-60 VHS films, sold the them years ago in a yard sale. Only one I keep was The Little Mermaid, as it has the original cover art with the hidden dildo in the castle spires, might be worth something some day.

I do that, but I erase the films off the dvd copy once I've seen them, just so I can send more back in a week and get more films. We are naughty.
