hey people. this thread is dedicated to the best hockey player of the modern age ILYA KOVALCHUK. Kovalchuk is the best, no doubt about it. He has everything a good players needs. speed.power.strength and great view of the game. people say he is worse than Ovechkin and Crosby and Jagr.. i think that Kovalchuk is an outstanding player and he deserves the credit.

Who?
Is that Russian for Mario Lemieux or something?

Because I don't recognize greatness unless it sustains itself and can stand up to the test of at least a bit of history.
DarthSidiouss
okay. ilya kovalchuk atl thrashers. he led them in goals and points this year ?? russian dude... u know number 17 ??

Used to use Gimp. Mainly PS now.
But check this thread . It's pinned in the sig forum and has basically everything you need to be a decent sig-maker, including tuts for most major programs (including gimp).
I'd also recommend just messing around with it. Most of what I learned was just via experimentation...I've probably read only about 2-3 Gimp tuts in my life.

Umm no...Kovulchuck isnt the best player in the league, not by a long shot. He hasnt won anything, he hasnt won any scoring titles, hasnt won any awards, and he doesnt have everything. He cant play defense, or lead a team.
Best player in the modern NHL from atleast 1990 and up has to be either Lumieux, Forsberg, Yzerman, or Jagr. They have alteast done something with thier career.

actually kovalchuk shared the trophy with iginla and nash a few years back. not only that but hes still young. hes got a lot of talent. kovalchuk actualy was in the lead this year in points at certain points in the season. he was in front of jagr. at the end of the year he slacked off and finished like 10th.. thornton caught up to jagr and won. the point is kovi shared a trophy with 2 other hockey players. Maurice richard trophy
Smasandian
Sooo in your eyes, he is the best.
But then you say he slacks off. That isnt a very good trait.
And he barely tied for the Maurice Richard trophy. So whoo hoo, one award, does that make him the best.
The guy isnt the best. If he was the best, he would of won the Hart, gotten to the playoffs, and not slack off. Heck, his +/- minus is crap considering he has 98 points.
The best modern player is by far Gretzky or Lemuiex. They could skate circles around Kovachulk.
DarthSidiouss
maybe in their prime.. but not any more.. they're full of sht lol
Smasandian
Dude, it doesnt matter if they're not good now because they're 40 and over years old.
You said Kovachulk is the best player in the modern era of hockey, and I named 2 player who are soo much better than he is.
These guys were dominate in the league, nobody could stop them. Kovachulk can be stopped.
DarthSidiouss
lol wait a few years.. lol kovi owns hes my fave player and nothing u say can change that.
Smasandian
I'm not trying to change your favourite player.
But you made some statements that had to be address.
One thing though, Lumuiex and Gretzky were dominate when the first came into the league, not in 6-7 years into the league.
DarthSidiouss
hmm very well said.
