Seriously, if you ruled the world. Meaning you either made or appointed people to make every decision or law you wished, wouldn't it be a better place? What major changes would you make? I got a ton of ideas, but I'd start with forcing people to apply with me to reproduce. Me and my team would test for a certain level of intelligence/genetic physical fitness/common sense at about 21. Anybody who fails would be made sterile. For those who follow comics it'd be a lot like Dr. Dooms Latveria, but worldwide. What about you?

I'd like to rule like King Ashoka of India, who based his rule on Dharma not by Force, who unified peace across Indian subcontinent and as well as neighboring western counrties.

If I'd change the world some people might disagree with it, but overall it would be trying to be the best for humankind as a whole and also as a whole in the future.

Things would be better for people who harbor the same values with me, such as social, political and economic. The values I think would be better.

Others will have hell, because they don't agree.

I didn't say I would purposly make people's lifes hell.

I believe in global communism, legalisation of drugs, end of death penalty...etc. and not EVERYONE will agree.

I don't know how many people will hate it - maybe a great majority will like it. But the sad fact of life is that not everyone will. There are ALWAYS people who will hate it.

Don't get too excited. I certainly don't mean that I would ever favor preventing anyone, by force, from entertaining any political viewpoint they so choose. I was just expressing amazement that communism is still being thrown out as some kind of untried ideal we should consider implementing.

First and foremost I don't qualify to rule the world. The first thing I most likely do is wipe out a bunch of people I don't like. Second, I don't like having power over anyone. People will come to me for answers and asking for help. Most likely I wouldn't even get a second of sleep from people constanly wanting me to help them. Sure, is nice to help someone occasionally but to do it 24/7 is just too much for anyone...even for the ruler of the world.

First, I don't believe that man has perspective such that he could decide which traits are truly valuable to the human race. Second many traits that could have been selected out at some point because some people disliked them are traits that I really appreciate (I mean really, big breasts and small breasts are both wonderful in my opinion), so that idea is garbage. But then if all I care about is me, I would have to say that all men should be sterilized, and neutered.

I don't believe in big government. My overruling rule would be that government should make few if any laws, government should only govern if it needs to govern.

Truth be told, I wouldn't rule with an utter iron fist. I'd have a small team of advisers, 15 or so. Bill Maher, Dr. Cornell West and Salmon Rushkie would be among them (no need to seriously think out a fantasy situation). We'd initially allow the world's seperate governments to continue for the sake of not causing worldwide chaos. The first steps would be to slooooowly overturn obvious injustices and human rights violations (brutal dictatorships, mistreatment of women in various cultures, Haliburton, Carrot Top, etc). We'd then move to the issue of next importance and so on and so forth.

A good portion of people would initially hate me simply because the "masses" don't posses the mental acumen to see past the moment, but they'd eventually live in a virtual utopia. How ever many years it would take.

This sounds like a world ripe for the plucking. Can Dr. Zaius be your prime minister? Oh, and can Dr. Zaius be on your committee on human reproduction? I have some great ideas about that....

As slowly as necessary. And I'm fully aware that no amount of time/care/explaining would get everyone on page with me. So yeah, eventually some amount of brute force would be necessary, as a last option.

The people of the world are used to seeing it's most powerful countries only use brute force to end conflict when European interests are at stake, with it's most powerful country as the enforcer. We've known for decades that certain cultures use women as human toilets but have refused to do anything about it. In Rawanda, the Hutsis and the Tu-Tus (may have misspelled the names) killed well over a million in tribal warfare. The most powerful military in the history of the world stood by and did nothing. Apartheid stood for decades after our own civil rights movement had succeeded (depending on whom you ask). But we did nothing. We've actually back the current violence in the Middle East, with our own president (purposely not spelled with a capital P) saying just a week ago that it was to soon for a cease-fire. How is it ever too soon to stop civilian deaths?

But when the Serbs and Albanians (Europeans) were into it a few years ago we rushed right in. Can't let Europeans kill each other, huh? When Iraq invaded tiny Kuwait on Aug 2, 1990 the U.S. rushed right into Kuwait to defend the tiny nation that couldn't itself against the neighborhood bully. Or at least that's how they tried to spin it. In reality, we've been "in bed" with oil-rich Saudi Arabia, Kuwait's neighbor, and couldn't let fighting spill in that direction.

Once the people of the world realize that I'd police the ENTIRE world regardless of whom is the aggressor and who stands to gain, they'd realize the good being done. Or at least most would...I think.

I'd rather run a country as a dictator than the enitre world. Less responsibility, less people to worry about, it'd be grand. Of course, it'd be a large country, like Brazil. Or Canada.

Every one wants the world to be a better place but when someone didnt like something it would be destroyed/killed making the world a bad place again. just because the world is brilliant in your eyes doesnt mean that everyone likes it.

It would depend on how capable of a leader you are, though I think most people could make the world a better place if they ruled it, simply because its a much more simple and efficient government then the mass chaos we have today.

I dare say it is less communism itself, and more the ideal of it that people believe in. If not Communism, it would be something else that promised similar - be it other political ideologies, or religious ones. As long as you have inequality, or people who are seen to unfairly posses more then those in need, or anything like that, you will have fertile soil for ideologies of this nature. Political ends as it were. There was a quote, I wish I could remember it, about how the declaration of the death Russian of communism was met with applause, but how they were wrong, because as long as there is an exploited worker, or a worker in general, communism will survive, the only way to truly kill it being to remove the workers, which is about as possible as extinguishing the sun.

And people have a poor track record of learning historical mistakes. Remember, those in need, or in the most dire circumstances really don't often care about the means of extracting themselves from their predicament. If there is a chance - they will take it. Communism was always its strongest in the places with most need, places where no avenues existed to betterment, or so it seemed.

Not for everyone...

Quality is an opinion. You would never be able to make every one happy. But we could make the world a better place by stop cutting down rainforests. That makes something better.

If I ruled the world, a lot of people would die. Well, these specific people are more appropriate to call animals, but yeah, they'd be dead.

For the most part I'd be a pretty easy going guy. However I would definately institute the fashion police.

I think about this a LOT. First of all, society needs to be changed so that stupidness is no longer a admirable quality. Then, there needs to be limits based on reproduction. Everyone should only be able to have ONE child. However, if their child has genius level intellect, then can have another. And if that child is a genius, they can have another. So on, so on, until they stop having genius children.

Just kidding, but there would be justice... maybe too much justice for the sake of peace. Oh, and everything will be based on merit and talent instead of tradition or the conditions you were born in.

If I ruled the world, I'd mould it to my own ideologies so of course the world would be a better place. As it would be my ideal but of course everyone's ideologies are different so many would probably disagree that the world is a better place.

--Laws and ordinances will be voted on by the people directly. It will be done by region, since the needs of those in Australia differ from the needs of those in Africa, which differ from the needs of those in Canada.
--Approval of laws would have to go through me and a few trusted officials (because even I know my knowledge is limited). Stupid ideas will be thrown aside never to see the polls while others will voted on directly by the people, as stated before.

- All would have the same rights regardless of race, religion, creed, orientation, etc.
--Obvious things like not being hired because of the color of one's skin will not be tolerated.
--No banning of gay marriage (sexual exploration is all well and good but marrying an animal will NOT be allowed).
--Religious freedom will be allowed (although discouraged. Belief in a higher power brings false hope, but hope nonetheless so who am I to limit one's pursuit of happiness).

- Government would not impose on the private sector except for reason to maintain above values.
--Businesses would run as usual except for some adjustments. The money made would be monitored by the government. What they need to maintain their business will be kept while the rest will be put into the Global treasury (or regional treasury, I haven't made my mind up about that yet) for the use of the government.
--Businesses will be allowed to set their own regulations, and not be made to adhere to anything but standards for health and safety.


Everything is saw as necessary for the next. For example, even though the government will stay out of the affairs of private businesses, businesses are required to adhere to not hiring based on race, religion, creed, orientation, etc.
