Yes I did it. It's also really fun if you fill your mouth with soda and put a mentos in. It shoots out. It also works with Sprite.

It does with normal, but the soda doesn't go as high. Diet Soda is also easier to clean up because it doesn't get as sticky.

in diet there is aspartan. the rest is the same

we did it at school, at lunch.

We were watching this on Mythbusters last night...it's a combination of aspartame, preservatives, and caffeine that causes the reaction, so diet sodas react more.

Oh man, I gotta do this at work this weekend!

I find common science experiments to be cool, but the way some people are impressed is even more hilarious.

They showed that thing on Letterman and the entire crowd acted as if they just saw human teleportation.

I think that's the whole idea though, right? People do this mentos thing to see how people react.
