Creating the Great Seal of the United States was a collaborative effort by America's Founding Fathers beginning on July 4, 1776. Finalized six years later on June 20, 1782, this unique combination of symbols and mottoes conveys their vision of America.
On the breast of the American bald eagle is a shield with thirteen vertical white and red stripes beneath a blue chief. In the eagle's right talon is an olive branch, and in his left a bundle of thirteen arrows. In his beak is a scroll inscribed with the motto E Pluribus Unum.
Over the head of the eagle, a golden glory is breaking through a cloud and surrounding a constellation of thirteen stars on an azure field.
Reverse Side:
In the zenith of an unfinished pyramid is an eye in a triangle surrounded with a golden glory. Over the eye are the words Annuit Coeptis. On the base of the pyramid are the numerical letters MDCCLXXVI, and underneath, the motto Novus Ordo Seclorum.

The Latin motto "Annuit Cœptis" was suggested by Charles Thomson when he put together the final design for the reverse side of the Great Seal in June 1782:
"A Pyramid unfinished. In the Zenith an Eye in a triangle surrounded with a glory proper. Over the Eye these words 'Annuit Cœptis'."
The motto has been traced to Virgil, the renowned Roman poet who lived in the first century B.C. – to a line in his Georgics, the evocative instructional manual for farmers:
"Da facilem cursum, atque audacibus annue cœptis."
Virgil's line has been translated in different ways, including:
Give me an easy course, and favor my daring undertakings.
Smooth my path, condone this enterprise of bold experiment.
Thomson (a Latin expert) changed "annue" to "annuit," the third person form of this verb that means to nod assent to, to be favorable to, to smile on.
"Cœptis" means undertakings, endeavors, beginnings.
In the motto "Annuit Cœptis," the subject must be supplied. Thomson explained:
"The pyramid signifies Strength and Duration: the Eye over it & the Motto allude to the many signal interpositions of providence in favour of the American cause."
Therefore, the subject of the sentence is Providence. "Annuit Cœptis" means "Providence has favored our undertakings" or "Providence favors our undertakings."

It's a mason symbol, whats your point?

The Latin motto "novus ordo seclorum" was suggested by Charles Thomson when he put together the final design for the reverse side of the Great Seal in June 1782:
"On the base of the pyramid the numerical letters MDCCLXXVI & underneath the following motto. 'novus ordo seclorum'"
The motto has been traced to Virgil, the renowned Roman poet who lived in the first century B.C. – to a line in his Eclogue IV, the pastoral poem that expresses the longing of the world for a new era of peace and happiness.
"Magnus ab integro seclorum nascitur ordo."
Virgil's line has been translated in different ways, including:
The great series of ages begins anew.
The ages' mighty march begins anew.
A mighty order of ages is born anew.
The majestic roll of circling centuries begins anew.
Novus means: new or young or novel. Ordo means: row or series or order. Seclorum (a poetic form of seculorum or saeculorum), means: of the ages or generations or centuries.
An expert in Latin, Charles Thomson coined the motto: "novus ordo seclorum" and explained:
"The date underneath is that of the Declaration of Independence and the words under it signify the beginning of the new American Æra, which commences from that date."
The official translation of "novus ordo seclorum" is:
"A new order of the ages"
NOTE: "Novus ordo seclorum" does not properly translate into "new world order," which is an English phrase whose Latin translation would not be "novus ordo seclorum." Seclorum is a plural form (new worlds order?), and Thomson specifically said the motto refers to "the new American era" which began in 1776.

That you theorists are really bad at translating...
Emperor Ashtar
It means new order of ages, how is that different from new world order?

I'm sorry, but what does it matter that the translation was laltered, the point still remains.
Grand_Moff_Gav
Because...New World Order, means an order of the world
New Order of the Ages means a new order, (fledging nation) of the ages, it will last!

You just said the exact samething as a definition, except in the later phrase you eliminated the word "World".
Grand_Moff_Gav
Yes, well, Strongbow does that to you...
NO, the second does not imply that the world is being controlled by one order, the first does...

How is a "new age" different from a "new world", the pretty much the same.
Grand_Moff_Gav
No, a new age is a new period of time,

So, a new world order doesn't count as a new age, you can debate the specifics all you want, doesn't change it's purpose.

A New Order of the Ages, is very different from a New World Order

dunno if anyone has brought this up, but why would these secret societies put secret symbols everywhere, whats the point?
Are they saying "look we can hide symbols everywhere arn´t we cool"
or are these symbols there to give someone a message, show which companies to deal with etc.

They have a point, but I think it's best we discuss it on the other thread.

Your right, just made one.
The new world order:- a whole new way the world is run, a new system.
New Order of the Ages:- Either the ages get put in a different order for some reason, or a new order which has never occured before in all ages.
A lot gets lost in translation, the main meaning is what actually matters, don´t let silly arguments hide the true direction, divide and conquer is effective here to!!
It means some thing new is going to take over, Basta!

So, how is a new government different from a new government?

One is a government of the whole World, the other is the government of a country...

Which one translate to country, the word age?!
Grand_Moff_Gav
New Order of Ages = This means, that America would be a new order, and a powerful and important one, the use of the word ages shows its importance.
New World Order = This means that the whole Globe will be under the control of one government(Illuminati) and be one nation.

You associated the word order with America. yet in the second definition order miraculously translates to government, instead of nitpicking try sticking to the definition.
The correct translation:
New world Order= New World Government
New Order of Ages= New age government
