Ragnos = suck. He doesn't belong there.

Ragnos was very strong in the force, and a master swordsman. The talismen at his disposal were also unique and incredible. He far from sucks, and is easily one of the most powerful sith there is, second most powerful imo. In terms of accomplishments and greatness, he ruled the sith for centuries in its Golden Age and was able to ensure that the sith empire remained prosperous during the many centuries of his rule. He was able to remain undefeated and was able to ensure that his title was never usurped in the many years that he was the dark lord - this was at a time where civil war and rebellion was common. He definitely has spot number 2, Sidious is the only sith who achieved more than him.

We have to state Jedi/Sith that are real, and full potential Anakin never existed nor will be. In addition, how is Exar Kun greater than Marka Ragnos? And why did put you Darth Sidious as #5! DE Sidious should be #1! Personally, I wouldn't put Nihilus due to his abilities, but hey wtf.

Anyway, your list is okay (though Kyp Durron is better than Yoda, personally I would take Ulic out and put Revan). I give you your kudos

What do his teachings have to do with considerable power? Where did he make a difference? I only know of his force blocking technique which he used only during the Hyperspace War. You're talking accomplishments while we are talking power. Odan Urr isn't up there.

If you're talking about greatness as in actual accomplishments, then yes, he might be on that list. Though I doubt it.

Now, if you're talking about strenth in lightsaber fighiting, Force ability, and such, then he doesn't make the list.

All we know about Odan is that he lived for a live time, had visions, trained Jedi in a time, and was a librarian. Assisted in the destruction of Sadow's army. And he fought Massassi on Kirrek.

Kadesh! being more powerful is different thing. My ranking here is not just based on power of a Jedi.

My Ranking Approach:

I have ranked these Jedi considering all these 3 things:

1) Power
2) Accomplishments
3) Saber Skills

Revan is very good in both 1st and 3rd sectors and his accomplishments are especially among the most note-worthy in Star Wars Saga.

About Yoda:

Yoda is also very good in both 1st and 3rd sector but his accomplishments are not on par with that of Revan. But still I have given Yoda a note-worthy place.

About Ragnos:

Ragnos is noted for his victory against Simus. But Simus is not as powerful as the ones mentioned here. Also he only had one rival "Naga Sadow", who is also not as powerful as the ones mentioned in my list.

Ragnos scores well in 1st sector though. His achievements are moderate at best because he never faced any noticeable challenges but he is unknown in 3rd sector.

About Exar Kun:

Exar Kun scores well in 1st and 2nd sector but his achievements are moderate. His rule was ended on a single planet "Yavin 4" by the Republic forces.

In terms of Force strength and lightsaber skills, I rate the following as such:

Jedi-

1.) Luke Skywalker
2.) Jacen Solo (before turning)
3.) Yoda
4.) Revan
5.) Kyp Durron

Sith-

1.) Sidious
2.) Kun
3.) Nihilus
4.) Revan
5.) Ragnos

Nihilus is not very good in Light Saber Combat. He will be pawned by all other Sith Lords (who use Light Sabers) mentioned here in Saber Combat.

5. Darth Maul

Jedi

1. Luke Skywalker

Why the hell is Darth Maul on your list. Darth Tyranus is leagues above him, so are several others.

Ooops, I forgot him. Maul might not as been as p[owerful as Tyranus but Maul was the perfect example of a Sith. Good saber skills, warrior, scary, and fearless. Count Dooku doesn't come across as very scary.

Sidous is not > then Revan by "super-margin".

The TOP 5 Sith Lords (including Revan) are close to each other in terms of over-all power and knowledge of the dark side of the force.

But DE Sidious is most powerful.

Firstly, Sidious can move faster than the eye can see and dont forget sidious knowledge of the dark side clearly triumphs over revans, mastering every aspect of the force and being able to perform techniques which would destroy an entire armada consisting of thousands of people

Note that I used word "close" and not "very close".

Revan's knowledge of dark side powers was also immense. Check Revan's articles for more information.

And I have not disputed the mastery of Sidious in Dark Side. Common Sense states that when an individual is most powerful, that individual knows the most as well.

Exactly but from what i have read, revan isnt even close to sidious in the force, for saber, revan is an unknown

but sidious knowledge of the dark side completely triumphs over others, Revan is definately in the top 10 most powerful sith lords for me.

Raven's forms are unknown actually but his expertise in Saber Combat is very well known because Revan has defeated many notable and best duelists of his time.

His style was not closely resembling soresu because it looked more aggressive. I don't remember it properly though.

Their are some speculations that Revan practised and mastered aggressive Light Saber forms.

Well I disregarded Vader and Bane, because they ultimately turned back to the light and did quite a lot of damage to the sith that they had just been a part of, and I disregarded the Ancient Sith because they didn't use lightsabers.

Several hints from Star Wars website point that these 4 Sith Lords are confirmed to be among the most powerful Sith Lords of all times. Sidious is however at the Top.

So the position of these 4 Sith Lords is stronger and apart from speculation.

Pfffft. Dooku is specifically described in the databank as being one of the most powerful.

Dooku had studied the ways of the Force for almost eight decades, becoming one of its most powerful practitioners

I feel that is deserving of a spot in the top 5.

That's speaking in respect to the time where he became that, it doesn't equate to him being one of its most powerful practitioner's ever.

I had to put Vader (pre- or post-suit... doesn't matter to me) because it was through Vader that Sidious accomplished taking over the Republic. Also, it was through Vader that Luke succeeded. Luke was NO MATCH for Sidious in RTJ... maybe afterwards, but definitely not during.

I'll admit that I haven't read every single piece of literature out there, so my picks are based on the little bit that I have read and seen in the movies.

Pretty much everything, there's really no explanation needed.

Is this because of Dooku?

It's not only due to the fact you have Tyranus listed at the number one spot on both accounts, but your rankings are severely flawed, and you even have Kit ****ing Fisto on your list. Plus, you're lacking essential figures like Luke, Jacen, Exar Kun, and the like. If it were only because of Tyranus, then I wouldn't have said 'pretty much everything'.

Kit Fisto is a great Jedi, who else has a smile like that, Fisto deserves to be on the list, because of his smile and because he is a great swimmer.

Advent is right; your list is unsupported and idiotic at best. Dooku being one of the greatest Jedi - and an even greater Sith Lord - is stated and supported by the novelization. However, the Emperor was the greatest Sith Lord ever, bar none. His achievements grossly outweigh those of any of his predecessors, and Dooku was nothing but a pawn in the schemes. As for Jedi, he counts even less. Yoda, Luke, Jacen Solo, and even Obi-Wan Kenobi - in terms of decisions and roles played - have had much more of a profound importance on the galaxy than Dooku has.

Isn't this a personal preference and it says no bashing, you hurt my feelings.

I don't agree on this one...
Perhaps they had more importance for the Jedi order...But in the galaxy...Without Dooku I don't think Sidious would ever got his hands on the death star plans...He opened a full assult on the republic...

And what obi wan did...
He killed Maul, got pulverized by Dooku two times, and got killed by Vader eventually...And then stopped by and say hello when the war was over at the end of ep.6.

First of i was joking when i made that list, especialy about Kit Fisto and i would never in million years put Sion on it, if i was serious and they meant, when he was a Jedi, he didn't do anything big for Galaxy changing events.

Even when he is a Sith, he is not super important, all those things he did for Sidious could ave been done by someone else, just allot harder, he was the perfect man for the job, but easily replaceable.

Now why is nihilus one of the greatest sith? All he does is destroy this and destroy that. He hardly did anything impressive non force wise.

Now sidious bane and nadd fits your list for the greatest

Why is Nadd on that list, or Ragnos, or Nihilus, but the biggest question is, why Tulak Hord maybe, we don't know anything about him.

b.) Malak did nothing but try to do what Revan did, and he failed at it. Ergo, he's not among the greatest Sith.

c.) Naga Sadow? SEE: Malak.

d.) Kun, who is certainly among the strongest Sith, is trailing behind Darths Sidious and Revan.

e.) Where are Bane and Ragnos?



This is a little better. Arguably, Anakin could be number one, since he killed Palpatine and "brought balance to the Force".

And why Jacen Solo, he went to the Dark Side.

I think that Revan would be on the list had he not disgraced the Sith and went with the Republic. He had an opportunity to dominate, but for some odd reason threw it away (officially).

5. Sion was only Invincible in a limited sense. Nihilus wasn't immortal, only "contained" in a mask. And Palpatine and Andeddu eventually died, so...

1. It's becime kinda consensual that Palaptine is #1 Sith in Force powers. There's nothing that Zannah's done to put her in the top 5. And frankly, every Sith sans Palpatine who came back as a spirit was bound to a location and item, so...

The Jedi Academy Sourcebook said that Freedon Nadd was tethered to his remains. I think that was the one that DS mentioned as being without an anchor.

I don't think Nihilis should be on the list. Firstly, he had basically no control over his actions and just drifted from force sensitive planet to force sensitive planet, like a mindless zombie. Secondly,what he did did not help the Sith accomplish anything, as he was not trying to conquer the galaxy, simply satisfy his lust for force sensitives. He wasn't even really allied with the Sith, he just liked eating planets for his own ends.

oh, and obi-wan should be on the jedi list. 4 or 5.

Obiwan is an interesting character because while we know all the good he has done, he has be partially blamed for Vader and he did let Hett live who would become Darth Krayt. I tend to think the good out ways the bad though.

There is no such thing as a "great" sith except for maybe Revan and Caedus (who, when you think about it, was more of an anti-hero)

Actually he's the reason why Anakin didn't fall to the dark side EARLIER, so he actually delayed that, and while letting Hett live turned out to be bad, the action of letting him live was pretty noble.

We're talking about which sith have the greatest accomplishments....Like reestablishing the order,responsible for the deaths of a lot of jedi, conquering the galaxy, things of that nature.


The first thing is debatable since he could have done various things to help Anakin out.

As far as Hett goes, yes it's noble and he couldn't forsee anything that Hett would do later on. It's just fun noting how he is somewhat responsible for the death of hundreds of jedi and the fall of the republic/galactic alliance.

Could Obi-wan see shatterpoints? If he could, could he not have seen how bad the consequences of letting Hett live could turn out to be, and could he not see that killing Hett to be the better choice?

Obi Wan never learnt the technique. I believe. Then if he could, he might react like Mace did in AOTC, he knew that if he bombed the arena the war would end, that was the Shatterpoint, he ignored it, If someone could post the exact quote, i'd be grateful.

Kenobi might not of killed him anyway.
