Do you really wet yourself if you fall asleep with your hand in a cup of warm water?

Or is it just another urban myth? Had this discussion the other night with some people and was interested to know if it's true or not since, while everyone knows about it, no-one seems to have actually witnessed it happening. The usual situ is for a drunk unconscious person at a party to have their hand put in a basin of warm water and then for everyone to gather around to have a laugh while they pee themselves. I'd like to know if anyone has witnessed this phenomenom purely for scientific reasons. 🙂

Discovery's Braniac did a test on this, the 'victim' even drank a lot of water before going to sleep to increase succes.

These results have disappointed me.

If you put your hands in warm water, the urge to go pee multiplies.

I know reliable people who swear to have seen this happening. Further research is required...

Someone tried to do it to me at a sleepover in fourth grade. I ended up knocking over the bowl and getting my sleeping bag all wet. Almost as bad.
