if Squall can stand up to Cloud, then he can definately hold his own against Seph

Squall.

Although it is not going to be easy because Sephiroth will most likely not be fooling around like he does when he fights Cloud. Unless of course he realizes Squall is another main hero and therefor he must suffer from the typical japanese angsty teen overcomes much more powerful archnemesis and trips over the Masamune impaling himself on it.
