John Cassaday (even though i hate his Cyclops) is one of the best at portraying gestures and facial expressions imo...
Jim Lee is still up there with the best of em...
Whilce Portacio... not doing the most major stuff nowadays, but in his day he was awesome...
Perez is ok imo... but not the best, at least, not to me...

Well that doesn't change the fact that he is on time. Better to be honest than lie about being able to do a monthly like certain other artists and writers.

Yeah, its love or hate. I used to hate his work back when he first started on Superman but compare it to his Superman/Batman stuff and he's evolved a lot while keeping the same style. Plus, it works well for certain characters. You can't tell me McGuiness wouldn't kick ass on a Hulk book.
roughrider
Ed McGuiness has a fun caricature style, like former X-Men artists Rick Leonardi & Arthur Adams. I like it. And he wants to do Thor, now.

That is true... and from what i hear he's always wanted to draw the hulk...
Mindship
There are so many, but narrowing it down...
Michael Turner
Though I didn't like him at first: Ed McGuinnes
My all-time favorite: doesn't have anywhere near the technical expertise as do today's artists, but the natural power of his work is yet to be matched: Jack Kirby.

Isn't that true for most artists? I think a real offender in that regard is Carlo Barberi (?). Just look at the faces (especially the girls) he draws for Young Justice in OWAW.
I mean, this is their style, and unless they work from models there are gonna be similarities in the people they draw. Not that it is inevitable; it takes a greater awareness, I would imagine, of one's work to strive to create subtle differences to prevent cookie-cutter characters.

Deathstroke
I've really liked Carlos Pacheco's work on Superman and Frank Quitely's work on All-Star Supes.
DigiMark007
Phil Jimenez has become my favorite artist. Other World pushed him over the top, but I've never seen something of his that I didn't love. Even someone like Ross I can only take so much of before I get annoyed. Jimenez never had that effect on me. Most other artists are adequate, but I don't really notice the artwork as being very good or very bad.
Oh, and whoever did the Annihilation prologue was
...
Also, I really can't stand Frank Quitely. He took over The Authority for a while and I wanted to punch somebody.
Deathstroke
I wasn't a fan of Quitely on AS Supes at first, but his style really suits the feel of the book. It's really grown on me.

I'm digging Ariel Olivetti right now. His work is incredible detailed and yet stylized.... I can't get enough.
Grinning Goku
Marc Silvestri, Jim Lee, Alex Ross,
Tom Grummet, Norman Lee, Todd Mcfarlane is pretty damned good, Steve McNiven, Andy Kubert, Alan Davis (love his rendition of Captain Britain), John Cassaday, and I like Frank Quietly's work at times.
Damn, and I know I'm forgetting people too!

Ron Lim is an awesome artist. He just doesn't have too many runs.
Blight
I love Rob Liefield.
SpookySmurph
I'm beginning to really like Patrick Zircher's Deadpool.

Jim Lee rocks. He draws everyone with square jaws but his artwork compliments the inks and colours sooooo well, I'm willing to say him, Steve Mcniven, Alex Ross and probably Terry Dodson are my favourite artists.
I also like Greg Land's art although all his female character's facial expressions look....dodgy

Bryan Hitch's work on Ultimates 1 & 2 was maybe the greatest work I'd ever seen, outside of fully painted work by Alex Ross or Bill Sienkiewicz. Especially Vol. 2.

has anyone heard of a comic book artist named Steve "Reece" Friesen? Is the quality of his work any good?
tjcoady
Frank *ucking Quitely (Vincent Deighan). Flex Mentallo, Invisibles, All Star Superman, Millar's Authority, JLA: Earth Two, Sandman: Endless Nights.
Best artist in comics, hands down. There's a distinctly unique aesthetic to his artwork that just GETS him. I can't quite put it into words. I think there's a reason he works with Morrison so often, aside from them both being Scottish- his work just EXPLODES with love for the superhero genre and for the sheer fun, cleverness, and power of comic book.
But I could understand why someone might not like him, especially when he's in his more cartoony mode.
WrathfulDwarf
Cliff Chiang is becoming a favorite of mine. He should have been picked to do The Spirit after Cooke left.
Tharg
Totleben and Mobius.
ScarletSpeed
Mines would have to be Romita Jnr or Frank Miller
Deathstroke
Ladronn does some really nice covers.
