braz
can they penetrate him? im assuming they probably do, but i just want to make sure

batdude123
Yes, they can.

braz
what about superman? the man of steel. so, really they should cuz adamantium can slice steel, but i think they just call him the man of steel to show how durable he is. its really just invulnerability. IMO wolvies claws shouldnt be able to penetrate supes.

Grimm22
They should be able to no expression

Considering he can scrape off Thing's outer hide

Thing's outer hide >>>>>>> Luke Cage's skin wink

Scoobless
Superman is completely irrelevant here (as he is in most threads ... stick out tongue )

Adamantium probably can cut through Cage.... but we wont know if Wolverine is strong enough to make it happen if they never fight

why not? IMO its a good question. u got something sharp and literally indestructible molecularly=(adamantium) vs Invulnerability, which gives him steel-like skin. and yea, Wolve could cut through Cage IMO, ive seen him slice through solid titanium doors and some other things.

DigiMark007
Maybe not.

A metal knife is technically stronger material than, say, a brick wall. But we don't possess the force required for it to penetrate the surface. Thus, it would take a force beyond what a normal human can muster to effectively "stab" a brick wall with a metal knife.

Same principle, but it depends on the force Logan can put into it.

So yeah, Wolverine's claws have a limit. But I'd say he would probably be able to penetrate Cage's skin.

In an alternate reality where powers have shown to be different on many occasions

But the point isn't about taking a punch, it's about the hardness (not strength) of his skin

Cage's skin still isnt nearly as tough as other characters (Colossus, Thing, Hulk, ect...)

I wish his skin was unbreakable though erm

Wolverine's claws cut through anything except adamantium, force fields, and magic. Done. Cage gets cut as he is none of the above.

No, they should be able to since they can slice at least a foot deep into Thing's inner structure. Stop changing the facts to suit your Thing crush.

Ben's outer hide is like our skin no expression

His inner hide is like our bones.

Bones >>>>>>>>>>> Skin

Thus, Thing's Insides >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Thing's Outsides wink

Wolverine cannot stab Ben on his own no

He can cut Luke's skin - it's listed in his bio that he can be pierced by sharpened adamantium - but probably can't damage him very much, because he doesn't have the strength to cut into him very deeply.

And Ben was cut by Wolverine. His face was disfigured by Logan after an errant slash during the mid 90's. Look for the Ron Marz/Bart Sears run on Silver Surfer for proof.

Wolverine can cut his that but he cannot stab him no

Scoobless
he stabbed him down to his knuckles during enemy of the state

Why don't they just go ahead and make Wolverine's claws molecular-thin?
May as well.

Taking a punch should have no real bearing on whether or not someone can get cut. Its not a strength test here. That said yes Wolverine's claws can cut Cage but at Logan's strength level I don't think he'll be able to hurt him much

Cuts through foot thick Omnium Steel like it's not even there. That's zero resistance for those not paying any attention.

May as well. Why wouldn't they be? Modern science can pretty much do that and you dont have to worry about making the edge too brittle since it's indestructible.

didnt wolverine stab thing in the shoulder

So your saying he can cut through anything else?(Galactus, cosmic beings?)

And what about Carbanadium?

well, thiers a certian "cosmic nature" about those types of characters that would sort of fall into the majig/adamentium and force field category

what that cosmic nature is
well

well It's not like they use force fields all the time, or do they fall under Adamantium.

Have you ever tried that? Its not the blade the screws you over... its when that stupid plastic handle snaps through the metal blade and you end up cutting your own hand... not that i'd know. embarrasment

Unless you're talking about those all metal blades... which have a thin handle.. I haven't been able to do more than stab the blade 1 inch deep into wood... into brick, i'd say i cut out about 1/8th of an inch. mind you a stronger or more skilled person could do more.

And you don't need to be strong to break down anything... just chip out the mortar around the brick!!! :P

Btw... if cage gets hurt its harder for him to heal.. as his wounds would not be able to be sewn up by conventional means... Wolverine could slash against the outsides.. and have him bleed a slow death..

He could go in for a cut at the achilles tendon... if wolverine could cut thanos... he can cut luke... and a well aimed cut is sometimes better than a deeper one... or the veins against cages wrist.. well aimed...

From wikipedia:
Even though Cage is practically invulnerable to conventional weaponry, it is possible to injure him with adamantium weapons. The same experiment that granted him his great strength and durability, has also slightly increased his ability to heal. Luke Cage's injuries heal about three times faster than a normal human's. As a side-effect of the fortified tissue of his body, the density of that tissue is greater than an ordinary human. The only drawback to such an ability is that when he does sustain serious injury, medical care is difficult given doctors' inability to get past his hardened skin, as in the Secret War limited series.

now in the civil war tie in... wolverine got hit by namor... and got knocked straight out... in one hit..

He can't cut Thanos though.
That wasn't even cool. Thanos had the IG.

Actually, you have that backwards, he blocks out all Wolverine feats that do make him suck.
