I don't know if this has made the news yet, but starting next Fri it looks like Amazon and Itunes will have a legal movie download service:
"Two new movie download destinations are going live within the next week's time that look to fix that. Both Apple and Amazon plan to launch their movie download services with Amazon ready for business on Friday and Apple's iTunes on Tuesday. Amazon is expected to have content from all the major studios while iTunes will temporarily be limited to Disney-owned content. To alleviate the stuck-on-your-laptop problem, Apple is also expected to announce an upgraded version of their AirPort Express, which will allow users to wirelessly stream the movies to their TV or home theater system. Amazon will offer users who download the movie a discounted rate on a copy of the DVD in a try-it-and-keep-it type service."

May be very cool and I am interested to see if this helps curb illegal downloading.
