Totally forgot about the American remake until now... Apparently the director's a fan of the original and wants to keep the story true to it and the novel....

I still reckon he'll cock it up and give them all names like "Corey" and "Justin".

Well the novel kicks more ass than even the movie does. Although it will unfortunately go in the direction of "Oh man, Keith Kinglemen is killing everyone! Run Shawn!" Shit like that.

Long story short. It'll probably blow all ass.
