i need help finding the name of a star trek next gen episode

the story involves the enterprise discovering a planet that has all but been destroyed but for a single house where apparently a man and his wide live

turns out that the man is a god like being who refused to help the others on the planet when they were attacked by another species...his wife was killed in the attack and he refused to accept it...he also admitted to wiping out the entire attacking species with a single thought

any body know the name and/or season it was in
