They told us it was safe...

Last weekend we spend some time at a nice city named Breda, Holland, for some excessive partying and entertaining sports.
The party-aspect was flawless, but things got rather messy when we went on our sportive trip the next day...
It involves a tour through the canals on big canoes and us proving the organisation's comment 'these canoe's are almost impossible to tip over' very very wrong

Here we are preparing for some serious velocity

Confident with our promised safety we choose to shift to ludicrous speed!

And that was where the crap hit the fan

At that point we all had this 'time freezes' sensation, but we were awakened pretty fast

The moment at which 'Aw shit!'came to mind

Holy Crap not only does it not flip over it sinks as well!

And here the moment of really realising what the hell happened, and what was lost...

Damage:
5 drowned cell-phones, one never recovered
1 broken camera
a lost shoe
a pair of glasses still on the bottom of that mudpool

Shit. That really sucks.

Aw well, it was mostly old stuff, and I have a good chance with the insurance.

Odd eh? Shit, we even searched for that shoe (and my friggin glasses) but no luck.
I did recover a friend's wallet from the bottom of that sewer!
