As a contrast to JIA's "atheism test" I took the liberty into posting this Fundamentalism test. Go on, try it!

Since when has eye-for-and-eye been a good policy?

I thought we were better than them.

I thought we were better than them. It makes me sick when fundamentalists think they're right by saying the same thing over and over again. I just don't understand it.

Alliance
It makes me sick to. So I'll turn off the forum and go do something else.

I won't become them. Then what will I be fighting? Them or myself?

lord xyz
Don't say I'm just like them for saying this:

I want to stop them, because it's the cause of the bad things in the world.

Go on comment that they feel the same way. I dare ya.

Alliance
Well, they do. They destroy the world in the process, but they feel they are doing right.

However, they don't see the larger picure.

However, they don't see the larger picure. The weird part here is that you just made me feel better about myself, even though you're saying I'm just as bad as them.

But I understand what you're saying.

Where're the fundamentalists? I posted this for them.

Alliance
Hopefully they're at CHURCH.

Less than 8% of Britons do that sorta stuff (according to Wiki)

Alliance
Yes. and 60% of Americans do.

Does that explain why we (out administration) is so effed up?

?: "I never read, listen to, or watch anything that might challenge my beliefs." no Thats pathetic.

Alliance
My favorite is "My Scripture interprets itself. To understand it, I need only to compare Scripture passages that cover the same subject or use the same word."

lord xyz
These were all of my faves.

lord xyz
I ticked true on all for a luagh.

You are probably a Fundamentalist

A list of links to save you from needless outrage

Here is a list of sites where you may find affirmation of what you already believe, rather than a challenge to it. Choose a link from your particular brand of Fundamentalism.

Damn right.

Don't get your hopes up on JIA taking this test. Despite everything he dodges anything that he perceives might make him seem... fanatical. Such as refusing to answer yes/no questions about Chick tracts when he had pretty much said this about them:

"I think Chick tracts are good and I don't see any lies of propaganda. Maybe the people who do are just paranoid."

When given specific examples he dodged the question whether he believed what they were saying was true or not.

Alliance
Thats because he knows that he can't back up his argument. Its liek a two year old trying to trade stocks on the floor of the NYSE.....its just NOT going to work.

crazy
Chick tracts... so funny, I thought JIA was just really into his faith before he posted those, then I realized he is a nut.

Alliance
NUT!

Ah, that brings back memories.

I always laughed uncontrollably for some reason when the "golden eyeball" was mentioned.

I suspected that meant I to needed therapy.

I will not judge a persons wiht respect to their beliefs, but fundamentalism I do have a big problem with...........should be wiped out..............so discerning.

Alliance
I believe that there is a range of acceptable views....a WIDE range.

Evangelicals usually exist outsied that range, because they apparently havent developed rationality yet.

Rational evangelism? Isn't that an oxymoron?

nice to know people are taking the test.

I'm trying not to make blanket statements. They're exceptions to most every rule.

I know, I was joking.

Typically I found found Mormons are quite rational usually and not that over zealous. Once one gets past them coming to ones door anyway.

It doesn't make me any more receptive to the version of Christianity they are promoting, but they are far more pleasant then most other forms of evengalists.

Alliance
Thats because Mormons aren't evangelicals.

Strangelove
Aww, I failed

Correct, though I have heard scholars who consider that since Mormonism maintains that missioning and active aims of conversion puts this in a on the path to evangelism - though different of course from evangelical Churches.

Comes down to definition really - of course it has little in common with tv Evangelists and the like.

Alliance
Exactly. Evangelism is more than a sect. Its a philosophy and clearly recognizable (at least to me).
