The Google Company has purchased one of the most popular sites on the Internet: Youtube. What's your thoughts about it?

Just gonna add to the google money machine, imo. Google Video..or anything else for that matter..doesnt even compare to the popularity of Youtube

it doesn't really matter much to me, as long as they keep youtube running the way it is...

Google Video and Youtube are both pretty cool, so I can't see much bad coming from this.

Google knew Youtube was pwning them, so they bought it. Youtube will now be deleted and Google Video will just remain

Google = More Advertising

More Advertising = Better videos on youtube

Actually, about 2 months ago, YouTube offered itself up for advertising space. It doesn't mean the video quality will be any better, as they'll only be more strict on cracking down on copyright infringement, as well as censorship.

YouTube ain't going nowhere. They're not going to ditch a brand name, which just before the merger sold advertising space.

I wonder if they'll change the name to "YouGoogle"

The creators of Youtube just got a major payday though from having a business that really wasn't really all that profitable to getting $1.65 Billion...

I dont really like the idea of monopolies, and Google is coming across as such.
