If we were going by absolute best showings, Iron Man does stand a decent chance. The guy KOed the likes of Surfer and Hulk earlier in his career.

Heralds power fluctuate all the time. Does that mean Tony gets a few wins against them as well?

He gets 1 win if it's a weak probe and Tony gets lucky.

Normal probe throws Tony into the sun.

Normal probe throws Tony into the sun. OWAW was how many comics. There was no history of the sort behind the probes. If you fluccuate and you've only been in five or six comics then thats in no way near a herald like SS who has a prior history to base feats off of.
