It probably originated in Russia, some time after the 1917 revolution, when the White Army led by Admiral Kolchak and supported by British “Die-hards” from 25th Middlesex Battalion, tried to stop the Red Army. Soviet invasion of Afghanistan in 1979 was most likely caused by it. A series of seemingly unrelated events in 2004-2005, such as Hurricane Katrina, is connected to it.
