well, they show guy chests and guy asses sometimes... anything else a person would want to see on a guy generally isn't as interesting as what a girl has

There are plenty of Hentai's with male nudity.

I don't think that I have seen any non-restricted anime that has showed the lower genitals of women. But I imagine the reason is that the female genitals are more inside their body(not much to see unless you zoom and rotate camera etc), but the male genitals are in plain view always dangling free and virtually impossible not to notice.

I see where you're coming from. And I do agree, there is a definite sexist element. However, I fail to see a problem with the current setup. And I have yet to hear of a non-hentai manga or anime with full frontal male nudity. Rear nudity, yes. frontal, no. Also, women's bodies are much more aesthetically pleasing regardless of persuasion. Women's bodies can be works of art. Mens, far less so. But then, I'm hetero, so my opinion on that is no doubt biased.

Didn't you guys read my post? It's not a sexist element. Girls don't want too see penis as much as guys wanna see boobs. That's it. In fact, there are women in the world that find the male fallus unattractive. Ever hear about a guy who didn't love a nice rack? Me neither.

I told you, already. They don't care if it's equal. Most women don't even want to see penises, anyway. Guy, however, want to see as much nudity as possible. I'm sorry, but that's just how the market works. If you want to see more wangs, go read a yaoi manga, I hear they're quite popular.

I, uh, can't think of many mainstream anime with full-frontal female nudity.

Also, you may or may not know this, but most shows are, in fact, targetted towards certain sexes and age ranges. It's pretty silly to watch a show aimed at teenage boys and complain that it doesn't have male nudity. If you want male nudity, the entire yaoi genre, for example, is aimed at women.

Why would the young men genre of manga have naked men? That's not what the buyers are looking for. In mangas for women, they are more prevailent, and in yaoi and hentai, even more so.

You're not sounding sexist. It is how marketing works. The guys at the animation companies ask themselves, "What are young Japanese males into?" They check polls, internet, and experience from their children. Well, it turns out they want girls in tight clothes with big swords, fighting dragons- maybe even some lesbian innuendo. Then, they make it happen.

Also, the same works with girls. They find out what Japanese girls like. Usually effeminate pretty boys goes on a journey with an equally pretty girl, stuff happens, they fall in love, the end. Most Japanese girls aren't all that excited with seeing penis, however male nudity is uncommon- neither is female.

Japan has different standards (ever wonder why the men are all so feminine in shoujo anime? It's a cultural thing). Yeah, generally a good thing to do - to know what you're talking about.

Think about this one as well - many woman also like looking at the female body. It's definitely not something only men like. And I'm not talking about lesbian women, either, but straight women as well.

And there is male nudity and anime and manga; you just obviously aren't looking for it. It's not anything that will ever be in mainstream anime aired in the US.

What I find sexist about anime is the way all male characters are portayed as perverted, weak, spineless dolts who pander to the needs of females whenever possible and accept any kind of mental and physical abuse from women without question - which is of course mirrored in our own society. All the female characters are portayed as virtous and strong compared to the male ones and are always right and even though there are many female dominated animes with only female cast the male dominated ones always have at least one irritating girl to make the lives of the men hell. Ok so girls are not as perverse as men but not all men are thinking of ogling the female body - they aren't that special only walking meatsacks like the rest of us. To put it bluntly I'd say anime is predominantly male-bashing and misandric and no-one has the balls to admit it due to our man is bad woman is good culture

a lot of manga is still mail dominated as far as main character goes. on the other hand manga can be credited for showing a lot of girls as NOT SO VIRTUOUS, and slowly turning the quiet ones{which is thought of as unhealthy for girls in the neo japan culture and manga culture} to more vibrant and annouing ones. ofcourse one can say that the annoying school girl is a stereotype in japanese culture{also scantily clad} but its not a terribly sexist one. i do admit that we need more mainstream anime girls and main characters and perhaps showing guys naked as much as girls{although anime is far superior in that respect to cinema and western cartoons} and sensualized{manga, naruto guy/guy sex scence} lol.

although maybe its cause of me being a male n all. i find it a little difficult to understand how to SENSUALIZE the male image{even of theyr naked} in the same way as a female, i mean they dont have the handsome proportions as the opposite sex, nor can they do the same submissive{i suppose they cud but i dont think society is really ready for it} acts as a girl. just a perspective of a male artist.
