Someone posted this over at Kttc, it's the commentary by TnT:

When Bootstrap first appears ("time's up" Jack is holding a broken bottle with sand pouring out of it. This was meant to symbolize an hourglass and the sands of time running out. I wonder why this never occurred to me.

The Black Pearl lying on the beach wasn't actually there.

Will's "Never mind, let's go" line from the trailer was actually a blooper. They wanted to use it in the movie, but the shot wasn't long enough.

The other actors' reaction to the "I've got a jar of dirt" chant is natural. They had no idea what Johnny was going to do.

Ted and Terry don't always agree about what the compass is pointing towards.

The reason the compass doesn't work for jack is that "he wants Elizabeth, but he doesn't want to want Elizabeth".

They describe the kiss of death as allowing Elizabeth to simultaneously "slake her lust and drown her guilt".

When Norrington is about to appear for the first time Ted tells Terry to "Shut up, it's Jack Davenport!"

Terry does not think that Elizabeth would have allowed Jack to kiss her at the end of the Curiosity scene. Ted is not so sure.

On the Isla Cruses the compass was in fact pointing towards the chest the entire time. But Elizabeth thought that it might not be.

Anyone else here feeling sold out?, Deceived? lied to?..why shove something in our face and then say it wasnt real?...how the hell is the audience supposed to think "oh yes its pointing at the chest here but it looks like its pointing to Jack" from what we see the compass pointing to on the isle?


I think the whole thing about Liz not letting Jack kiss her during the curiosity scene is complete BS..

1. she had her eyes closed waiting

2. she was pushing her mouth out

3. she looked disappointed he pulled away, she even pouted.

well its actually the writers commentary.

I'm just slightly annoyed that they are trying to say the compass was pointing to the chest the entire time on the island when there was no clear indication of that what so ever in the scene. So I'm feeling slighly..sold out..and lied to.

Also I dont think they will explain that in AWE either.

they only mean on the beach. It must have been pointing at Jack on the pearl. But by the sounds of things they may have been disagreeing on that in the commentary

I mean, first he says that Liz wouldn't have allowed him to kiss her. But Ted isn't sure about it. Then he admits that she felt something and that she did have this desire. Why didn't he said at first that she felt this desire for him. IMO this doesn't make sense. Either the person that posted it wrote the things that were convenient for them. She either wrote what the W/E wanted to hear or she didn't watch the whole commentary. We are mising more things here.

Humm? They didn't agree at first as to where it was pointing, Now all of a sudden they came to an understanding and decided that the compass was pointing at the chest.

he's talking about the curiosty scene not the end scene with that "allowed Jack to kiss her"

we shouldnt believe anything at all until the actually dvd comes out...on dvd, not from the computer....and seeing as there are just about equal amounts of spoilers, and everyone seems to be contradicting them selves everywhere, no one really will know for sure till AWE...so really guys, dont let yourself be jerked around by every little thing, good or bad. this has been a roller coaster ride as someone said before(sorry, dont remember)....come on guys....KEEP THE FAITH

Oh I know lovely but note how he says "that she does have this desire as well", Why wouldn't she allowed him to kiss her, if she was desiring him in that scene as well. We saw that she was ready for it, and she was willing to do it. Terry admit it in the last quote that I found.

This whole commentary seems odd. I am not saying its not true. But is clearly missing something. That is just my though.

Maybe it's just that at certain points the guys can't decide where the compass points? I dunno, just a thought.


But they are men, after all. Everyone says men are more definite in their answers, but I honestly don't think so. Men always try to make things more difficult than they need to be.....


No wonder poor Liz is confused about her feelings, if the guys writing her can't seem to make up their minds.

It just seems more plausible if the writers contradict each other rather than them contradicting them selves. Let me explain, it would be understandable if they don't agree in certain things. But when you contradict yourself it creates insecurity. Therefore what you have said before may not be reliable or believable anymore.

Oh, who cares? There is plenty more to talk about rather than what the writers-who-can't-make-up-their-minds say.


I adore TnT, but I get a headache trying to figure out what they are trying to say, so I think I'll just ignore it from now on.

WOW i leave for like 2 hours and a lot happens dont want to rain on a sunny day or anything but i went to rent a movie at blockbuster AND DMC was there! it was in a plastic container behind the counter! I asked about it and the lady said they get it anywhere from 1 month to 1 week till it actually comes out! it really makes you feel so close yet so far away anybody want to break into a blockbuster? lol jk
