Yep, yet another creative changeup on the Aquaman book. Seems after PAD, no one can stay on this title longer than 12 issues. Ah well, here's the info...

1. Kurt talks leaving Aquaman
2. Tad Williams talks joining Aquaman
3. And again

Sad to hear Busiek is leaving, i've enjoyed his issues (when they come out). Tad seems to have a good grasp on Aquaman history though, and his ideas for the book sound good. He's bringing back Cal Durham and the Human Flying Fish which is freaking awesome. I hope he doesn't make Aquaman able to fly like he alluded to. Giving Aquaman a power upgrade is not the key to making the book sell (as has been shown many times).

Hope Orin returns as the one and only Aquaman. Enough with the new kid, it's time for the king to return.

(and yes, i'm back big grin . Though i won't be around as much as i used to be, busy trying to earn money so i can go back to Indo in Feb)

DigiMark007
Tad williams? The weird fantasy author?

I don't mind some of his stuff, but he's very long-winded most times. Hopefully it doesn't translate into his comics.

Amen! woot

Well of course I will still be picking it up. I liked Busiek, but the story was going to slow

Deathstroke
I thought Guice's art was pretty good, but I'm kind of glad they're going to bring in someone else.

Lucid Lui
I really liked Guices art (when he inked himself). Shawn McManus is good too.

I like how Tad intends to make Aquaman a big player in the DCU. To me, that implies Orin. Hope that's the case.

Hope he comes back with two normal hands though.

Deathstroke
I hope he comes back with a normal face too.

Odd, just finished the second interview and their going to give Aquaman "Water ball" attack. Spongebob and Smallville must have made an impact on him :P

Aquaman's going to be able to fly? hmmm...not sure if I approve of that. He would be to much like Namor than

Deathstroke
I don't think flying would be a good idea. If they wanted to give him some kind of power-up they should just have him carry over some sorcery stuff from the squid-face version.

King_Mungi
Sorcery would be cool, but I just want to see good old classic Orin. What this means for the new Arthur?...get him to join the Teen Titans or something :P

That's where it originated. He doesn't need it IMO, but if it has a good explanation then i'm fine with it.

Refining his TP sounds good though. It's always all over the place, it could use a good explanation and rundown of what it is, and isn't capable of.

Deathstroke
I'd prefer the classic version too.

Validus
Sorcery puts him too close to Tempest. The obvious power up is control of water.

And yes, I want Orin back too.

Uhhhh...your right, I completly forgot about that. Good call

Yep, I think that definetly needs it. Well I'm actually quite excited for this new run, but a constant writer would be ideal.

He could do that already with the water hand.

Not on such a wide scale. I was thinking more on the level of what AM 1 Million was doing.

Gotcha, Aquaman did have a good water control feat in JLA classified, but Aquaman 1 mil would be awesome smile

Another change in direction? roll eyes (sarcastic)

Never mind. My feelings on Aquaman as an interesting character are already known here...

Rather than a conventional powerup (which Aquaman doesn't need IMO), i'd just start having him exhibit some new style of Atlantean fighting instead, and using intellect, strategy and his recourses to win fights. And when he really needs to, he can just pull out the Trident for the big fights. That'd be much more impressive IMO.
