Galactus vs Solaris

That's Resurrection Man saying that -- he's SEEN all the threats from 20th century superman's time up to the JLA 1M time . . .
this is regular old galactus, no UN. they just run across each other as g is looking for his next meal. when they meet, g figures a cocky sun might make for a fine appetizer . . . solaris of course, doesn't see it that way . . .

Even I have to say that is pure HYPERBOLE. Solaris is powerful, but nowhere near the most powerful threat to plague the human race in any shape or form.
Solaris could beat a hungry galactus. He could even beat an average Galactus, but I cannot see a slaughter either way.
The hard part is of course proving it... Galactus has a hell of a lot more history than Solaris does...which is good and bad... bad since G has a LOT of low moments, ...and also bad because Solaris doesnt have a whole lot of feats.
Galan has more showings where he at least does stuff.
you'd think galactus could make a meal out of ego as well, but he couldn't. ego pretty much kicked his ass -- low power level or not.
he also nearly died trying to devour the dire wraiths homeworld in the rom series.
solaris's biggest attribute was its ability to COUNTER any attacks thrown at it. it was even in the midst of adapting to the GL energy used to wound it.
so i'd say g's ability to 'devour' solaris is by no means a certainty for any of a number of reasons.
i'm with avy -- i think solaris is certainly in g's league and has the potential to beat him unless he is REALLY amped.
Agreed. If they stressed ONE thing throughout that arc...itś that Solaris defenses and adaptation are on some ridiculous degree...and that the thing is pretty damn crafty/powerful.
The biggest problem is the lack of solid feats. We do know that the future feared that thing...it has to be for a reason...and it was wiping out thousands of those future heroes effortlessly.
