Prodigal Knight
Yaddle:

Well we don't know powerful Darth Plagueis except he trained Sidious. Naga is quite powerful, but in the terms of the known Sith, he is the weakest in the group.

Now we Qui-Gon and Yaddle.

Yaddle's biography:

At 477 years of age during the Battle of Naboo, Yaddle was considered young for her species. Still, with over four centuries of living, many legends have arisen regarding the tiny Jedi Master. Tales are told of her former mentor, Polvin Kut, and how she was imprisoned for over a century on the world of Koba. Few know which of the many stories that propagate about Yaddle are true and which are pure legend.
Yaddle had trained many apprentices in her past, including fellow Council-member Oppo Rancisis. Yaddle's last known Padawan was the vain and confident Empatojayos Brand, whom Yaddle successfully trained to become a Jedi Knight.

Not as martial a figure as her fellow Council-members, Yaddle was the head of the Librarian's Assembly of the Jedi Temple, and worked alongside such revered Jedi scholars as Ashka Boda in maintaining the Temple's impressive collection of holocrons, scrolls and tomes. Exposure to obscure knowledge granted her powers that few can fathom, including the forbidden Jedi art of morichro, a technique that rapidly slows the body functions of target beings.

When not on Coruscant, Yaddle resided at the Jedi training center at Kamparas, offering important lessons to initiates in the order.

Qui-Gon Jinn:

A philosophical warrior, Qui-Gon believed heavily in what he referred to as the "Living Force", a method of focusing on the moment rather than contemplating the Force in all its degrees. For this reason, Qui-Gon could be considered one of the more 'down-to-earth' Jedi of his time, due to his concentration on the matter at hand. It has been suggested that an ability such as this would have been conducive to stopping Palpatine's rise to power; as the Jedi focused on the Separatist threat to the future of the Galactic Republic, they failed to examine the moment more closely. Qui-Gon possessed knowledge of the architecture and engineering of various space transports and large capital vessels. Qui-Gon was also skilled in mind tricks, as was evident when he managed to convince the Gungan leader to let him escape.

In addition to his mastery of the force, Jinn was also competent in Form IV Ataru, often having sparred with Master Mace Windu. The Jedi lightsaber master who taught Qui-Gon had considered him the best lightsaber duelist he had seen in over 400 years of teaching in the Jedi Order.

On paper, it would seem that Yaddle would be able to win due to her knowledge, however we know too little about how she can pull off these powers. How long does it take her to pull one off? With how much power can she command them? Would Qui-Gon be able to defend against it? I'd have to give it to Jinn myself.

The Qui-Gon remark on his saber skills makes zero sense. Who was this guy? Obviously he knows Yoda, and Mace. Hyperbole, plus you've got Obi-Wan, Anakin, Dooku all of whom are better then Qui-Gon is at saber dueling.

I agree, Kamikz. Sort've like a jack-of-all-trades? In my opinion, his understanding of the Force (not mastery) superceded all of the PT Jedi - including Yoda. Hell, one could make an argument that Sifo-Dyas and Count Dooku (before he became a Sith Lord) also had an understanding of the Force that surpassed the others'. They knew of the threat that was coming, and how corrupt the Republic had become.

Yes, considering Dooku was Qui-Gons master, which means that whoever this "guy" is that thinks Qui-Gon is the best duelist ever was around to see Dooku, because Dooku trained Qui-gon lol. And you have Yoda and various other people saying that Dooku was pretty much the best pupil to come to the Jedi temple in a long long time, nor was there any padawan as uber as Dooku until Anakin made his appearance in the temple. Seeing as its pretty obvious that Dooku is a far superior swordsman then Qui-Gon, whoever this "guy" is is just throwing out huge hyperbole.
