Good point! Superheroes are in a way his offspring. Villains are different, they're always there to assist and represent the heroes. It's what keep them busy and heroic. Now, the villains of Superman are very different. In order for them to achive their goals they had to make Superman weaker than he really is...it explains why Superman never destroyed Darkseid or the others having kryptonite as his only weakness. For movies you'll have to dig deeper.

superman isn't the best character out there, more like one of the best, but he's better than the DBZ guys

You mean in terms of how powerful they are or how interesting of a character they are?

Um I think he was mocking Superman fans. Damn him. Supes is pretty cool. Especially when him and Bats are talking.

Superman owes a lot to a Philip Wylie character called Gladiator hence why marvel called Kallark Gladiator. A very good black and white 2 issue adaptation of the Wylie charachter was done by Marvel in the seventies.
