Before they were Light Warriors...before they were heroes...Fighter and Black Mage were just like everyone else...expect one loved to eat wood chips and play near power lines and the other loved to sacrifice little children to his dark gods.

8 Bit Theater:
The Story of Fighter & Black Mage


Our story begins at Corneria where Fighter grew up. Fighter, as you may know, is destined to become a great warrior. Expect he has a problem with paying attention longer then 5 minutes. You could say he was retarded. But in fact Fighter was a mind that even professors themselves would adore to have...if he didn't have the attention span of a rat. Fighter was sent off to train with Vargus at Fighter's Camp '87. And that's where we join Fighter today.

Fighter sits upon a nice chair relaxing waiting for his teacher to begin teaching. Vargus approached and could see the child's face lit up as though he was willing to learn.

"Ok, Fighter. This is the most complicated techinque I've taught you thus far..." Vargus told the young lad.

"Complicated techinque, got it." Fighter replied.

"Should you ever find youself being hurled at a horde of monsters, this is what you must do." Vargus continued.

"Horde of monsters, sure." Fighter once again replied.

"First, adopt stance three-alpha, as though falling from a great distance, with the sword parallel to the ground as opposed to perpen...are you even paying attention!?" Vargus questioned noticing Fighter wasn't even looking at him.

"Yeah, yeah. Stance four-beta, gotcha." Fighter answered. Vargus approached now realizing that Fighter has been watching TV.

"Next on chicks in chainmail, Eva Knyghtebane sports her new ebony bikini-plate armor..."
