As long as we're addressing this along party lines, then I guess we can thank Bill O'Reilly for bringing it up every year, this "war on 'X'-Mas".

But, beyond that, I'm sure this woman could bring legal action against the homeowners association for their fees and claims. This is one of those situations where the difference between lawful and absurd are clearly drawn. Were I her, I'd leave the wreath up, not pay the tab and take the association to court after the holidays.

Fired all the committee members.

I live in a neighborhood that is run by a Homeowner's Association. I chose the neighborhood because it was a good "first house" for me, and moving is not an option right now due to finances (plus, moving because of a HOA is pretty absurd). In other words, you just have to put up with their sh*t.

Here are some of the rules for display:

1) Holiday decorations may only be displayed for one week prior and 3 days following said holiday
2) Sporting event decorations (banners, flags) may be displayed for 2 days prior to event and 1 day following
3) Trash can not visible from street (but if you live on a street corner, all four side of your house are visible from the street).
4) 99,000 other policies like this that I don't feel like naming.

And I have to pay $320 / year for it, too! I think they pocket some of the dough, too, and therefore can get "fired" since it could technically be considered a job.

People have just perverted it to be seen as a symbol of it, like by turning it upside down so only two points, not three, face upwards.
Even in pagan practices it was used as a symbol of health, the elements, perfection, etc.
And during the medieval period it was used heavily in Christianity to represent Christ and such.

This reallyisn't a christmas issue, this is an HOA issue. See there's this law called the RICO Act that everyone in this country should be familiar with. the Racketeering Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act. It basically lists about 16 violations wherein if you are guilty of any two, you are subject to prosicution and imprisonment for participating in organized crime. If you look at the list, every single HOA in the country is guilty of at least two. The FBI should be busting up HOA's instead of spending half their resources on figuring out legitimate ways to bust legal internet porn or spying on Geriatric Grandmothers with Parkinson's Disease and Osteoperosis Against the War or whatever.

I'm saying this as someone who just turned 22 and has to deal with an HOA who also runs a private security firm on the side and relies on outright extortion and protection payments to make money.

speaking of which just because someone is wearing a private security uniform, doesn't give them the right to enter your house without permission, dig through your personal belongings, and eat your food. Feel free to assume they are a threat to your person and excersize your property, liberty, and life rights as an american by beating the living **** out of them.

Yea, but that was Hitler's style. He always took a symbol for 'good' and mutated it for his own purposes(like quoting Martin Luther to spread hate for the Jews). He probably was the best at propoganda in history.
