Did anyone beside me pick up this peice of crap?

When HOM happened and wanda said no more mutants, the energy of Xavier and Magneto re-created Onslaught. So in order to hide from him Franklin remakes the Heroes Reborn universe and jumps into it.

This crap ass story will make you cry if you let it.

it actaully would make sense seeing as how explained by beast the energy of the mutant had to go some were so in reality it quite possible that magneto's and prof.x energy could have merged.

Damn! When i "got it" I was anxious to read it and make the first thread about it, including scans but damn they f*ed it up big time. I mean I liked the original but this is pure garbage. I thought the explanation as to how he was "reborn" is plausible but just so it wouldnt count in current continuity they had Franklin miracously have the freaking Heroes Reborn ball stash in his toy box and they end up back in the HR universe and not to mention the art is horrific. F**k Rob Liefield, F* him, F*him, that bastard shouldnt be near any major comic book character.

Why are they trying to bring back Leifeld, I so hate his artwork. It was cool back awhile ago but he hasn't grown at all as an artist.

Awful artwork, especially Onslaught. They should have given him back his first form. That was a cool one.

That was terrible. I've never been more aware of something being made of still pictures.

And don't you just love the way they ignored continuity? Torch draining himself in 2 minutes, Franklin still having that ball... even though a Celestial took over guardianship of that universe/planet.... and weren't Magneto's powers part of the Collective?

Seriously, being unable to take the FF by suprise? Why not just control Sue's mind and make her choke them all out, or control them individually and walk them off the roof or make them fly really deep into the ocean?

Onslaught is such a joke, which sucks, since I think he has amazing potential as a villian

Well I finally read it...and wow, I expected little from Liefield and he didn't suprize me, but the story was horrible. Waste of money, and you don't hear me say that often about a comic

Last question: The whole deal when Hulk ripped of Onslaught's armor, and all the heroes got together to fight him... did that take place in 616 or Heroes reborn?

Jeph Loeb should stick to writing for Heroes and stop with comic books. He always writes out of continuity. Even though I liked his run on Batman (the Long Halloween and some of those stories) he's not one of my favorite marvel writers. Especially since he gave Superman that ability to see life auras and become a vegetarian. Superman should eat steak!!!

whats the deal with this book? When did the hulk come back?

I recall Loeb saying he writes a story to fit with an artist's strengths. Considering the Onslaught artist is Liefeld, it certainly would explain that first issue.

It's liek a 12 year old re wrote the story or something....

Onslaught Reborn # 2 came out today and if the first one was bad, this one is 10 times worse. They turned the whole thing into a Heroes:Reborn reunion since it seems the heroes exist in both universe now.

This is so gay........ I actually liked Onslaught alot when I first read his saga a month ago. This new version doesn't look as good as the 'Uber Magneto' version, but it's not that bad. Unfortunately, the writing.....on par with Mary Sue fanfiction GOD DAMN IT! Onslaught was cool, he doesn't deserve to be jobbed out like this. I for one liked the original incarnation of Onslaught. I thought it was well planned, it made sense and it built up over a period of time. He wasnt really physical, he was made of ionic energy I believe, his costume is pretty much an armor as he was evolving. How he beat 2 omega mutants, well without mentioning that he was made out of 2 himself, Frankling is a kid and was easily handled and X-man was a pretty lame character.

The original Onslaught saga was pretty sweet. This new stuff... they're ruining a great character. He should be one of those villains that comes around every 5-10 years... Loeb has pretty much made him a "Super Rhino" in this... totally does not get how tuff Onslaught is at all.
