Do you think people regret making career choices based on their annual income instead of pursuing what they might enjoy? What do you think after 10, 20, or 30 years doing a job/career that you love that wouldn't make much, compared to something that you would dread?
Rogue Jedi
i think happiness is more important. the more money you make, the more problems you have. i have a two to three year plan where i will end up making around $75000 to $85000 a year. maybe upwards of $100000. thats all i need.

Money can buy all the happiness you need. droolio
But seriously. People nowadays do do jobs that they think would make more money than what they are really passionate about. Unfortunately, all the low-wage jobs are the ones that make the world go 'round, so we'll have millions of doctors, lawyers, engineers, policemen, firemen, etc. but no bus drivers, waiters/waitresses, etc.
silver_tears
Well some people are passionate about being waiters/resses or bus drivers you know.
I think the bigger problem is actors getting paid 20 million dollars for reading off a screen, while doctors work for free in 3rd world countries to save lives

There's a really unfair wage hierarchy in today's market.
Council#13
Yeah, but as children, I'm sure they didn't want to become bus drivers and waiters/waitresses. They might like it, but I'm sure they wish that the pay was better.

Now personally, I do not care too much for money. I mean, money can't buy me love.

That was entirely uncalled for.

There are too many men (and women) who have a family to support so they cant pursue the career they want, but in the end realise that having a family to come home to and a partner that loves them is the most important...

It is important that you enjoy and take satisfaction from your job, and it's important to have enough money to do the things you enjoy. That is all.

Are you saying a prostitute loves the guy that's doing her?

Why? Has it been a hard day's night? Have you been working like a dog? Well, if it really has been a hard day's night, maybe you should be sleeping like a log.

Lolz. A your mom joke. That's...that's so fresh. I mean, I never heard one of those before. Just...so original, do you write your own material? I mean, really, I'm just standing here, minding my business and BAM, you just, just..you pull it out, A your mom joke. God, I mean, how, how did you get this idea? Because, because I never, never really heard that used before, I mean, it's so new. And genius. Just, wow. Nah, really, you're good, you're good.

It sounds like you're giving me a compliment, but my intuition tells me there must be a hidden layer to your words. It's such a sophisticated and mysterious post, I wish I knew the truth.

I hear that.
Getting some free money today would make me really really happy.
In fact, if I get enough of it, I could buy something that would make me happy probably for the rest of my life.

Well I know many people that take up a career just for the money and complain about their job like everyday. They are so miserable. Isn't that a living death? Though on the other hand what they would really like to do wouldn't pay as well, but they would feel so satisfied.

Yes people like to complain thats just how it is.
Besides there is a reason it's called work, huh?
I enjoy my work so I feel badly for the slobs that dislike their jobs, actually no I don't.

I'm not the hugest fan of my job but I make more than any other 22 year old I know so it’s not that bad, and I get to post at work. Also another thing you need to think about is maybe they are just complainers and they would complain about there job no matter what there were doing, I know some of them.
My job allows me do what I want and have what I want which is a very satisfying feeling, nothing worse then wanting to go on a trip but not being able to afford it or wanting to go to nice restaurants but only have enough money for like olive garden or something cheap like that. And having a nice car is always a plus.
Life is better with money no question in my mind.
